What I think the writers were low key tryna do...is show a parallel between dale's situation that we as the audience obviously know about.

Like there's an episode where boomhauer and Dale been going away together and not telling Hank. He was totally oblivious.
Showing that they keep secrets from Hank...

Esmay (Bill's aunt/Gilbert's mother) questioned Bill's intentions with those women, and basically asked him if he was planning on creating and raising seeds to continue the Dauterive bloodline, or if he is just looking for a nut. Bill planned on the latter.
