@UpAndComing

I just went through the episode guide and I like the show way more than I thought. I've seen every episode. My only caveat is that when it's on, there's episodes I'll just change the channel. Seinfeld is like anyone can pick up and play, anytime anywhere. I'll watch the comedy Central Seinfeld block whenever I see it on and I'm by a tv.

So the single camera comedies don't count as traditional sitcoms?
Are they in a separate genre?

Yeah. I don't know what it is. Though. Arrested development, the middle, modern family, the office (which is a mockumentary) don't have laugh tracks. Good shows though. Arrested development and modern family are great shows. The middle is good too, but I watched that with at risk juveniles when I worked with them so I could have an experience bias. I wanted to say "turn this shyt off" but they'd watch it, be cooperative, laugh, and I actually gave the show a chance and it's pretty good. I haven't sat down and watched it by myself or with family but it's good.

Other than Jerry Stiller being brilliant on both shows there's really no reason to compare them.
He was who won me over. Kevin James was always kind of funny.

I saw the episode of Arthur huffin nasal spray and was :dead:. Can't remember which network it was on. Show was still running but another network had started running reruns. Man I watched from then on.

By the way I wasn't trying to be aggressive or argumentative with my post. I just wanted to know should we start lumping non traditional sitcoms with traditional sitcoms

It's all good. We actually just had this discussion at work like 2 weeks ago. Cause I had turned on Seinfeld on the work tv.

My co-worker came to work saying she was up all night cause her 5 year old son had an ear ache and I laughed thinking of Kramer jumping on the plane. She didn't get it.

Sure enough I turned on Seinfeld on comedy Central and the exact episode came on!

But that happens all the time. I have somewhat of an encyclopedic knowledge of the Simpson's, futurama,King of the Hill and Seinfeld so I can make a reference and somewhere in syndication within a relevant referencable amount of time that episode will come on.

I binged Seinfeld back in the Netflix days where they were mailing discs.
King of Queens... I literally caught every episode in sindication cause I thought the shyt was that damn funny.
They're both funny but with Seinfeld you really gotta watch long term and catch the neurosis of each character. Like they might do something and humor is amplified if you understand how "George" it is, etc.

King of Queens is something you anyone can just catch on a humbug and thoroughly enjoy.
