some of the purists getting all in their feelings need to take a step back and ask a few questions

1) When the last time HW made you stand up?

2) Regardless if the talent isn't as "high" as it has been in the past, can we atleast be happy that an american champion may be the goat in this historic class?

3) Do you watch boxing for the skill or the intrigue?

enjoy the show :youngsabo:

1) Wlad-Femi last year because it was a great fight that ended up being thee best one of the year.
2) Doesn't matter to me. The last American heavyweight champion that made me want to watch him fight was Lamon Brewster. Wilder being GOAT anything at Heavyweight is also asinine.
3) I watch boxing because I love the sport period. Whether its current stuff, historical stuff, boxing outside of America, my own experiences boxing, etc If a fight is good its good...if a fighter is flawed, hes flawed..skill or intrigue is too much of a generalization of why someone would watch boxing,

nikkas hating on wilder are severely underrating Ortiz hand speed, defense ,fundamentals and just overall boxing skill. Damn near anyone would have lost to him last night.
Completely lost in this thread...Ortiz if he prepares properly for his next fight could give Wilder or Joshua hell and would be fights neither would want, but he still is easily the 3rd best HW and although due to his age and politics I don't think he builds back up to getting a Wilder or Joshua fight, but none of these other cats at HW can beat him.

What’s hating though? Admitting that Wilder isn’t all that skilled and has holes in his game? Ortiz is a decent fighter and is more skilled than Wilder but he isn’t all that either. Wilder has one weapon, the straight hand. Ortiz should’ve been able to avoid it.
Acting like joshua is going to have a easy night against wilder, based off this fight.

I want to agree 100% but he as he proved in the first Stiverne fight, he has good stamina. He just needs to be busier with his jab.

I think the only time he was knocked out was in the Olympics by a Russian. That guy had power and Superior technique

WIlder never was KO'd he was knocked down and that was when wilder first started boxing

Joshua can't beat Ortiz, which is why he ducked him

he struggled against washed up wlad, look how trash wlad was against fury, couldn't even pull the trigger, and Joshua went life or death with him

Wilder handles him why easier, he's too fast for joshua and to powerfu

Wilder reminded me of Keith Thurman they way he fought, and he a heavyweight, thats amazing
everybody saying he ain't got skills just reciting talking points, yeah he gets wild when in exchanges from time to time its called brawling

They way he measured with the jab was indicator of his fight IQ, if he had a little more patience he would've have gotten rocked with the counter left hand and would've knocked ortiz out in more dominant fashion

Deontay just needs to focus on really throwing a tight left off his jab.
He does that and he is set

Fury's akwardness would give em hell but Fury doesn't have a power punch Wilder will respect especially after eating Ortiz punches last night.

But obviously the AJ fight will test the both of them. Both have flaws the other can exploit. Its just a matter of who gonna get hit first and how hard they get hit. All that other technical skill shyt won't apply when them two go at it.
