The Travis Scott influence on this is is so apparent in a good way and makes this album such a full circle moment. I really hope they do a whole "Scotts" collab album
Lol is weird how that works. Cudi heavily influenced Travis, so travis takes similar sounds but modernizes some aspects, which Cudi then learns from. Some tenet shyt lol

Cudi even said himself he took advice from Travis on this album and took it to heart. Travis told him to rap more instead of doing that other weird shyt he been doing and it looks like he listened

I will say, I like the second half more than the first. But he did need to be more grounded

Giving this a 7.5/8.0

Feels like Cudi trying to step back into mainstream light vs doing albums I feel are his art projects. (Kids see Ghost and Passion pain)

Feels like Cudi watched his son Travis the last few years like :jbhmm: and then completed this album. Im not mad at all, but this does feel like an official commercial release

Highlights:
Mr. Solo Dolo 3 (Records like this is why nikkas stan the emo gawd ) :wow:
Dive
She Knows this

Lowlights:

Elsie Baby :camby:
Show Out (Not bc its a bad record, but you dont let Pop Smoke & Skepta body you on your own shyt like that. His verse sound like Jaden if im keeping it a buck)

I would compare cudi and Scott to ASAP rocky and Tyler the creators. Tyler, always made good music, but wasn’t rapping like he should. nikka met rocky and Tyler been out rapping a lot of nikkas. Cudi and Travis link up and now cudi rapping like he still on that floor eating Ramen :wow:

It's easier to point out what I dont like than what I do, because what I do is a lot.

I thought a lot of what he had prior to 2016, even including Passion was mediocre to trash, but he seemed to get a lot of shyt out of his circle and bah gawd its all so inspired.

This albums biggest contrast is MOTM 2, which was startling and fascinating/morbid, but some pretty low lows. All those rough edges are smoothed out here. Hes never SOUNDED better, and his songwriting/hook game is literally A+, but some of the songs are a little safe and just kind if finish. But I'm so glad he made this, a perfect end to this bullshyt year.
