i'm in the bay and thought this was common everywhere else but guess not. not a big deal at all really. my friend worked at a corner store when he was younger and had all types of thieves come through. the no hoodie policy is for security purposes and was for every race.

no backpacks in a store is common too.
the classic backpack in a store trick is one way boosters get their products.
it is pretty common.. but, you got to remember- thecoli.com is some weird ulterior world where people walk around openly calling Black folks c00ns.. everybody makes average 80k annually and is fukkin nothing but dimes..

It's really racially profiling for minorities.

They don't ask you to take your hat off now do they?

And I've seen plenty of people sporting hoodies on during the winter and fall inside stores.

You think anyone gonna tell you to take your hoodie off in a big store like walmart?

It's not take off your hoodie. It's remove the hood from your head.

I never see the people in this stores do that to white people with hoodies and back packs

Reminds me of clubs with dress codes where you can't go in cause you got a fitted then you see some cac in a fitted shorts and flip flops getting in:unimpressed:

If they have a no backpack policy I leave the store immediately. There's no guarantee my items will be taken care of, leave it at your own risk.

Also, a backpack is okay to be left at the front but not a women's purse? They both store items and have the potential of holding unpaid items, yet are never left at the counter.

I've never heard of this hood policy and I've spent a lot of time in NY.

And you clearly did not grow up in high-crime areas. I’ve lived in neighborhoods where the sign is plastered right on the door before you even walk in: “Please remove hoodies, ski masks, and sun glasses. Thank you.”

edit: They typically look like this...
Please%20Remove%20Hoodie%20Sign%2C%20Fegley%27s%2C%20South%20Tamaqua%2C%202-5-2012%20%282%29-M.jpg

...and practically every business around the way has them. Laundry mat, liquor store, corner store, you name it.

Black clerks, Arab clerks, white clerks, it don’t matter- you walk in there with your hood on and theyre liable to up that iron on yo ass
Dial it back some breh. This just isnt the case in every hood no matter how bad it is. Some places do it and some dont. How high the crime is doesnt really factor into as much as you are making it. Its discretionary. I can walk in the store with my hood up in the two of worst neighborhoods in Chicago (Englewood and Chatham) and they wont ask me to take my hood off. They may or may not have a sign up. :yeshrug:

More than anything he's a grown ass man, there's no way i'm letting anyone yell at me like a child anywhere :mjtf:

Have one of her male clerks come over to me and ask me to remove the hood calmly and respectfully

Only place I take my hood off is the bank, because of long-standing rules.
Never any place else.

its one of the oldest Black-owned stores in the city.. plus, theres someone at the door watching not only your bag(s).. but, the safety of the store & customers.. :unimpressed:

again.. i personally dont have an issue with it, being im usually in & out.. you dont have to go/shop there.. nor, do you go/shop there.. no need for the fake outrage.. i dont even know why its an issue to you to begin with..
They should just say no backpacks allowed unless they are in a college town.
