We have Brandon Graham, Ronald Darby, Jordan Hicks and Jay Ajayi on the final year of their current contracts with the eventual monster Carson Wentz contract extension coming up. We dont have any space for Dez if he want something big.

I dont know if he's better than Shelton Gibson, or atleast if could come in this late and be able to pick things up fast enough to have a bigger impact than Gibson or the other guys down the list on the depth chart.
I'd be cool with Maclin or Dez at the right price on a 1 year deal
Realistically though I think we just start getting Goedert much more involved until Alshon and hopefully Mack come back.

correct... my beef is with Schwartz and Corey Udlin
and on the long Howard TD Hicks had great coverage, he missed the ball by an inch and Darby missed a tackle. those two plays completely shifted the game, nothing coach Schwartz can't get cleaned up

my issue with Schwartz is his defensive philosophy. I hate that he has the corners playing off coverage because if the pass rush isnt dominant...its 1st down after 1st down after 1st down. That is part of the reason Brady has 500 yards in the SB.
how many teams across the league can play man press constantly ? Jags, Vikings, Atlanta ? they're few and far between.
I think that's Schwartz understanding his personnel and acknowledging that giving his rotation of pass rushers more opportunities to blow up plays, create long down & distances, force errant throws, etc ... is better than giving up 30-40+ yard plays because his corners got beat off the line.

I am not asking for CB to press on every snap but how about mixing it up and also...how about telling the corners to not play 8 yards off their WR. And if your CB is too slow to not play 8 yards off, maybe he shouldn't be starting. There is no reason for Darby who runs a 4.3 to play so far off his man

It was clear as day once u saw the replay that the play was Malcolm Jenkins fault.
Schwartz sent Darby on a corner blitz with McCleod covering the other outside receiver that Darby was on.
Jenkins was the single high safety.
Jenkins' responsibility was supposed to be safety help over the top but Jenkins either bit on a slight Sluggo route by D Jax or that weak ass play action by Fitzpatrick. Either way its his fault, it was a mind-blowing error by one of the better safeties in the game.
And at that point all Mills could have done was commit a PI, which he should have done to live another play on that drive, he wasn't staying with D Jax by himself.
Then again that play broke down so fast. In other words, even if Jones, Douglas or even Darby was on D Jax instead of Mills on that play too, they likely would have been beat too.
Mills caught too much shyt this week. He didnt play that bad.
That other 75-yard play was mostly Darby's fault. He made a half-ass tackle attempt and he knocked McCleod out of the play too.
Jenkins should have forced himself more to the sidelines to break Howards running pace. Godwin is not that damn strong to be blocking him from going to the sidelines.
That being said, u are right we lost this game mostly because of correctable errors by the defense.
They gonna be tested again with Ty Hilton, Eric Ebron and Andrew Luck this week.
