If someone accuses you of trying to fukk them when they were 14 and your response is "I was probably drunk and I'm gay:hubie:" you did that shyt

This I have no problem with. But statue of limitations is a real thing as well. So I'm supposed to lose my job over something said/done 30 years ago? Foh. That's ludicrous.

So they can cancel a show and dead a career over "allegations"? Really? Word of mouth is enough to establish guilt?

Dude is probably a pedo but we can't just throw him under a bus yet unless there's evidence or enough people coming out. Its a dangerous precedent to set.

:what:
If that "something" is attempting to sleep with a kid, then yes you should lose your job and should be in prison.
Just playing devil advocate but how do you feel about the hundreds of people house of cards employs. Should a show fail because of a mistake one worker did 30 years ago?

1. They've lasted longer than most shows...5 seasons is a long time for a show like that.
2. Kevin Spacey isn't just "one worker", he's the face of the show; the single most important "worker" on the show. In addition to lead actor, he's also an executive producer on the show.
3. They gotta take the good with the bad. The show's success is due, in part, to the big name Spacey built over 30 years as a Hollywood actor, if it's failure comes from his pedo nature over those 30 years, so be it.
4. FTR, no one has anything against the show (morally, with respect to these allegations), so if Spacey wasn't so intertwined with the show's success and it was actually still a good show, they could write him off the show and keep it moving. But alas that's not really an option.

Fair response.

Statute of limitations has nothing to do with your employer getting rid of you and you getting heat for some fukked up shyt you did.

Sucks for them.

But a network isn't trying to deal with any potential backlash. Plus you work in Hollywood, you know there's a chance your show can get cancelled at any time.

This ain't no suit and tie job, this is entertainment. They literally make money off of people's opinions of their product. If people don't feel good about the product, for whatever reason, they change the product.

And it already looks like Netflix is scrambling to figure out a potential spin-off to put most if not all of those people back to work.
