I was on some USA Today shyt all through elementary and middle school. I can remember family trips, and me asking the hotel receptionist at the lobby to bring the paper by the room every morning and when flying, getting my dad to buy me a paper while we were waiting in the gate. I was a foreign exchange student as a kid, man. A 5th grader that had been all throughout Europe. Me nor my parents capitalized on my potential, but it’s all good. I still turnt out pretty good, but my seed(s) will be great. You learn from the past, and you do better.
I’ve gotta get more pro black material in her daily life. One of the biggest things I see in our community is a lack of pride in self and community. That contributes to the muck we see now, and KS speaks on this some. Challenging part for me will be preparing her the things KS talks about. My ultimate goal is seeing my daughter off to a good man, that will one day take care of her the way I do to her. It’s a tough world and it’s only getting tougher. Having a strong man both mentally and physically is what I and her mother want for her, and we have to give her the tools to get that; amongst other things.
