What do you think can be gained from the discussion?

:jbhmm:
Actually, i mentioned this to my man and he went. off. :skip:

Apparently, the one and only time he ever filed for unemployment, the office was full of bw and jewish men. I gather that it wasnt easy.

(For reference and general knowledge, i had no idea this was going on at the time. He kept all this from me as he continued to pay approx $3k/ mo in rent and utilities. But i knew it was tight, so i had cut the food budget down to damn near nothing. These are the sacrifices you make for the life you want. We were young and unprepared and had lots of help from our moms.)

So, what can be gained from such a conversation? Well, I'm not sure bw realize or appreciate the extent to which their gains are predicated on keeping bm in check. It might open their eyes as to why bm, on avg, persist in being 'financially unattractive' despite 'freedom' and eeoc laws. :comeon:

Good point, I guess it’s another one of those things that needs a conversation

So why even say it?

Being overly honest with you, i never see that disrespect irl. You'd never find me in line at a fast food spot, I might order but my man does all the interacting with strangers (esp post-covid). Pre corona, i still didn't really see it bc, a, i don't eat fast food unless he wants it, and b, places i be, servers already know what it is. They trynna get tips. :usure:

It was a semi-joke.

Based on your responses, YOU shouldn’t do anything. This generation respects their friends more than their elders. It should be their friends & (some family) to check them because a random BW may just cause more harm, especially if she’s older.

It’s all perspective, you may have seen their micro-aggression as normal. I’ve never seen disrespect to that level, but I’ve seen an energy shift when they speak with Preston vs speaking with a BM.

I have seen this. I assumed it was an 'I can keep it real with you' vibe.

But this convo reminds me, professional bw- mostly foreign tbf- have expressed feeling a certain way bc (usu ados) bm security guards were 'over familiar', chit chatting, cracking jokes, etc. Generally treating them differently than they would have treated a ww.

This seems like the view from the other side. :jbhmm:

I remember someone saying "If you tell a black woman that you only date black women, she'll take it as you just can't get anyone else."
I didn’t hear this one, but I believe they would 100% say something like that.

Just like if you ain’t cheatin on her you don’t get no bytches.

Lyndon Johnson also has a lot to do with how Black women act today if we being real....

So much happened that brought us to this point. We have to put some of this on the school systems too. They are used to push anti-family agendas. They make people think their first priority should be their "education and career" instead of building a family unit. Think 300 years ago. People were not dependent on a school system/career system/financial system to take care of themselves. We lost the skills of building, sowing and reaping, and just basically doing anything we needed for our self. If everybody's access got cut off today to the current system we live in, what percentage of black people would be able to survive? Most of these women can't cook well now. A lot of men can't build their own home. We sped up in life but family life has been put on it's death bed. The government has been trying to get people dependent on it forever and take more control away from people. It's going to get worse too.

Nope. Not letting this slide. Its not about no damn sisterhood. :childplease: These bytches big as linebackers and be willing to risk it ALL bc somebody asked for extra napkins. You think Im engaging with them??? Voluntarily? Shall i go find a man to fight next? :skip:

But the fact that many of you apparently think it's a good idea is saying something... what, I'm not yet sure. :patrice:

Shes a gem.

My last Somali girl dumped me once I got fired. She stayed for 6 months (Her breaking point was month 6).

It wasn’t like I was Lawrence from Insecure either

Cause i ended up getting a job in Month 7

:heh:

Now she keeps tabs on social, but there’s no way I’d go back.
