On one hand, post Bryan/Punk the big signings in AEW are just sorta there (Cole/Lethal/Fish/Soho) and while there is a forbidden door with other companies, its not being used by everyone right away that they just signed. So considering hes in a good spot on RAW and they can pay him big and is proven I can see that being very appealig especially to a family man whos been working on their contract as it is and managing it even with the added expenses.
......the only counter I would say is hes also enough of a star to elevate above other guys on an AEW card and no contract in WWE is guaranteed now and in a year or two he could be easy fodder for the next round of budget cuts. He now has all the markings of someone who is a case for that (indy guy who doesnt fit a type, big contract and big spot but can be replaced by anyone coming from NXT 2.0). I'd like to think Owens is aware of that and knows when they pay him each year to still see its a bag worth getting even if the contract doesnt see itself through

Like him or not he's being used on just about every Raw.
That's true. AEW is adding so much talent, Owens has a better chance of being WWE champion than AEW champion in 2022.
Get that WWE money, use their giant platform, and if he gets fired, he knows he's a big enough name to get signed by AEW in the future.

Are we not forgetting how horribly he was booked as a champ. And had to put over a great young talent like Oldberg
