I think it's less to do with "black men" and more to do with black people in general: in many ways we are conditioned to prefer lighter skin. Western beauty standards dominate, and you see this in black men and women. From talk of "good hair" to the casual self hate we participate in with respect to automatically labeling any light skin person "pretty."
This is less of an issue with dark black men IMO. The "tall dark and handsome" trope applies to us, and there are plenty of cases of dark dudes getting love (Idris Elba for instance). A dark black man is less likely to have self esteem issues, although obviously that does not mean that "light skin men=pretty" sentiments don't exist.
Whereas dark black women have a far worse time. From childhood they have to deal with people saying ignorant shyt about their color, or praising the beauty of lighter friends, and the lack of dark role models on television/media. Imagine the mental turmoil of that shyt brehs. It's disgusting and I'm tired of seeing black people denigrate our darker sisters as if they're inferior. Stop that shyt. Now.
What really is the kicker is that if she wants to date only white men, why would her ass be in a thread discussing the dating life of a black man? Also why would she be on here instead of reddit, neofag, or body builder forums? Because they are really a troll.
Yessir, and she haven't been wifed yet. nikkas overlooking her for light skin broads.first time hearing of this chick. She bad as hell
It's evident the black community has issues. All this lite skin vs dark skin starts from the parents, who don't love themselves and pass it along to their children and the cycle never ends and seems like it never will. I know what I'm saying is common knowledge but damn....shyt is sad!
I took my daughter, who happens to look biracial (her mom is mixed) to the playground one day and she was surrounded by three or four darker skinned little girls, who acted like she was the lost savior queen from whatever tribe.....shyt was pathetic and made me feel uncomfortable. They went on and on about how "pretty" my daughter was, with comments like "her lite skin is perfect" to "I like her curly hair". I told all the little girls that they were pretty too and they instantly gave me the![]()
as if they never heard that in their lives.
We definitely gotta do better!

If back in the day, I'd decided to live my LIFE based on wide generalizations that I made while reading up on the internet or saw in the media, I'd think that all black women wanted a light-skinned man with light eyes and long "good" hair like the B2K cats. I'd be bitter with low self-esteem and wouldn't even work on myself as a way to attract the people I wanted to. That's a jaded assumption and that type of self-deprecating know-it-all attitude is why a lot of men AND women end up defeated before they even start playing the game.
Everyone's responsible. You can't finger-point and blame one gender. Black girls tease other blacks girls & boys about their skin tone just as much as black boys do, maybe even more so, but being argumentative in response to discussions isn't going to help anyone.

wow man you don't even have to answer that. This kat actually believes their aren't brothas out here that date and marry dark skin women....lol. Got damn the Internet is dumb as fukk. Man 3 dudes I do business right now are self made business men and these brothas are married to dark skin sistas. Hell my own wife has 5 sisters. Three dark and two light brown. My dark skin sister in-laws are the ones that are married and not the light brown ones.Let's see. One is married to a dark skinned sista. He makes over 80k. Another is engaged to a brown skinned woman....he's a doctor btw. And my other homies are in ongoing relationships with said dark skinned women.
Just because you don't see it doesn't mean its a fantasy. Let's keep it g
i see ur thot ass trolling once again.
You have never dated a black man, why you spreading your bullshyt
shut the fukk up ho
Yeah black folks got series issues with this shyt because of the Internet and all these talk shows. My wife and I are dark brown (my wife is Terri Vaughn's complexion). Well any way we just had a baby a year ago and our baby is lighter than both of us. Which is no surprise my mother is dark skin and my father is light skin. My mother in-law is light skin and my father in-law is dark skin. My wife siblings range in color and my siblings range in color (all kids are from the same parents). So anyway my daughter is light skin with curly hair which we keep in a big afro. Now me and my siblings all have curly hair which we get it from my mother. But I keep my hair cut low.
Well I show a few people where I work at my daughter and these jokers started to ask me is my daughter mixed. Now these are black folks mind you. These mothafukkas shocked that my daughter is light with curly hair. I am like so you kneegrows gonna act like a black man and a black woman can't produce light skin babies now. Then these sistas start asking is my wife light skin I am like nope she isn't. So I show them a picture of myself, brother and sister when we were babies and they were like yeah she looks like you guys and she has curly hair like you'll. Then these fools go back to asking how is she so light. I am like you dumb mothafukkas we as black folks are mixed our kids can come out any color. Like children are always the same color as their parents.
Bad enough I have to deal with them dumb as questions from white people cause they don't know shyt about black people. But have to deal with this shyt from black folks is sad. Especially when these kneesgrows got daddies, mommas, grand mommas, grand daddies, uncles, aunts and cousins that come in every color of the rainbow. shyt these idiots see all these folks during family reunion if nothing else.

As naive as you are, I can only assume that you are in your teens or 20's
Following your dad's advice, that means that you wont date 99% of men.... because unless they are rich, powerful and successful, no man under 30 is the complete article i.e. "where he wants to be in life".
but with all the bullshyt you typed, i'd bet that you've dated a number of men who were NOT complete
somebody posted a video in a thread related to them earlier in TLR...it was a photo shoot they were doing and she was doing the most while kevin was looking miserable as fukk
matter of fact...here it is(peep the 0:57 mark)
Kevin new bytch might be a genuinely nice person who supports his career and will take a back seat... but because she light skin his ex feel some type of way.
most light women, not only came from a white woman, but are half white.I'm not rich and I've never dated a dark skin woman. Yall acting like light skin girls are white women or something
The average light skin dime considers herself black breh![]()
