Easily Kevin Hart's best performance, and this is coming from someone who thought he was overrated.
but most impressive performance to me was Regina Hall. It's not easy to be on screen with Hart and not get shown up but she stood toe to toe with him in the comedy scenes. those two were the highlight of the movie. been awhile since i've seen an onscreen couple with that much chemistry
but yeah, like someone else mentioned, this was clearly originally meant to be a white movie. everything from them working with the Irish Bar to the Jewish joke, etc. All the "black moments" were probably improvised by Hart and Hall
this movie had me at times though
I related to Michael Ealy's character way too damn much. just the whole going through the motions thing and doing things in a relationship just because I felt like "that's what you're supposed to do" rather than me doing it out of genuine love for my gf. that's why the end scene with Hart and Hall clowning them was so good. The whole movie you're led to believe that Hart and Hall are the unstable couple when really they have the healthiest relationship in the whole damn movie just because they're so honest about their feelings and intentions. plus they don't change who they are to make shyt work
never thought I'd learn a valuable lesson from a Kevin Hart movie but hey, shyt happens
I don't buy into the cac/c00n stuff at all...but the perception of movies like this is why I made this thread. Its also why I made the Ride Along thread; Movies like this don't get the leash that their peers do, and this is better.
This weekend I saw both this, and 'That Akward Moment'...(yes, I was Baking a CAKE this weekend ), and my god, that was so much worse than About last night....the diolague was complete trash, nothing but dikk jokes and vulgarity for laughs...if I heard "you're such an idiot " one more time I was gonna walk out...this movie was 1000x better.
Kevin Hart is a bad word on this site lol
I haven't seen it, but Ride Along was jokes. And he was on Sirius the other day talking about a movie he's making with Will Ferrell called Get Hard
Ferrell is sentenced to prison and Hart works in a garage at his job. And Ferrell assumes because he's black that he knows prison life, so he asks him to train him. And I think Hart just gives him a bunch of bs advice that'll probably get him raped or beat up quicker
The only problem is that the movie was a little to good.
I can already see them trying to cash in and make 3 wack sequels and ruin it like hollywood does so often
Friday
Ghostbusters
etc and so forth

I suppose, but I think the likelyhood of that group working together more is more likely...that was kind of a one off story. Think like a man 2 is already coming soon (June)...expect more of it...they got this space locked up

But thats what i don't like.
You hit one peak search for a new one
instead of trying to maintain the current one.
because at best all you'll create is a plateau
and people will get bored of you on some been there done that.
