Loved the movie, posted this TLR, probably will see it again….

This was truly great….Kevin Hart was hilarious and did Mamet's dialogue flawlessly, and all the new material was perfect more or less, all the cast supporting and main were great, or good enough. Felt a lot like 'Think Like a Man' in terms of looks, tone, and scenery very good direction. Ealy surprised me, for the most part in a very good performance. I can't even think of any missteps worth mentioning….Really an intuitive and progressive idea to rework the 1986 version, which I haven't scene, but really exemplifies how good writing and dialogue really makes the difference. It's sharp, fast paced cutting, funny, realistic, and relatable, and Hart's frenetic and sometimes crazed delivery is the perfect medium for it. I would see this again, honestly….One of the better romantic comedies in years. Everyone and everything looked flawless, which is a little much sometimes, but hard to hate.

When Hart took that dudes coat and threw it on the ground, I lost it, and the 'food is vile….bytch can't cook'…..

I really enjoyed it. I lost it at the end when they were talking about how dumb the girl was

"wasn't that about the dumbest bytch you ever met??" :wtf:
"sometimes i thought FOR the bytch :mjlol:
"i see her talking and i just zone out" :russ:
"i daydream while she talks" :banderas:
"the bytch just doesnt THINK" :laff:

Classic banter between hart and hall

Easily Kevin Hart's best performance, and this is coming from someone who thought he was overrated.

but most impressive performance to me was Regina Hall. It's not easy to be on screen with Hart and not get shown up but she stood toe to toe with him in the comedy scenes. those two were the highlight of the movie. been awhile since i've seen an onscreen couple with that much chemistry

but yeah, like someone else mentioned, this was clearly originally meant to be a white movie. everything from them working with the Irish Bar to the Jewish joke, etc. All the "black moments" were probably improvised by Hart and Hall

this movie had me :merchant:at times though
I related to Michael Ealy's character way too damn much. just the whole going through the motions thing and doing things in a relationship just because I felt like "that's what you're supposed to do" rather than me doing it out of genuine love for my gf. that's why the end scene with Hart and Hall clowning them was so good. The whole movie you're led to believe that Hart and Hall are the unstable couple when really they have the healthiest relationship in the whole damn movie just because they're so honest about their feelings and intentions. plus they don't change who they are to make shyt work

never thought I'd learn a valuable lesson from a Kevin Hart movie but hey, shyt happens
