why do yall love to do this to kev? he definitely was funny early on, not an all time great, but funny. he's redundant now due to overexposure, but all (well most) comedians hit that overexposed part of their career where they aren't as sharp, funny, innovative, or interesting anymore, especially when they do movies. it happened to eddie, happened to martin, happened to rock, happened to tucker...chappelle wasn't that funny early on, hit a stride and avoided the lull by opting out of the fame

if his comedy wasn't funny to you, fine, comedy is subjective, but stop trying to blanket him like he's was never funny at all.

How did The Rock finess Hollywood? What was his blueprint that got him to become the highest paid actor in Hollywood?
he's not a good actor...he used his fame from wrestling to pivot to film. his films were flops but then he attached himself to a franchise that would've been fine without him (FF) which opened the door to lead in other movies (many franchises as well). his popularity is maintained by a relatively clean personal brand, an enviable physique/workout secrets that maintain/build male fans, and he's fine so he got female fans on deck. he's like if kim kardashian was to start acting, there's a lot more outside of acting talent that drives his success at the box office. the comparison between his franchise film and solo property film success says it all, especially looking at domestic receipts.

Who has had a more successful career in movies, The Rock's current run or Arnold's run in the 80s and 90s?? Rock is the highest paid actor in Hollywood and I believe Arnold was in his prime as well.

Brehs im two episodes in.

This was a good doc. he's flawed, he has issues from his upbringing, he lost his mother at an early age.

I don't know I find him to be a sympathetic figure who ain't perfect. I can care less for his comedy but i don't understand how nikkas are mad about him after seeing this.

He been thru it.
And as someone whos lived a tough life coming up, all i can do is respect his come up and hard work.
All that other shyt is whatever.
Hes flawed just like everyone else.
Maybe the Coli really IS a buncha whiteboys.

he’s not a good actor and he may not be the action star Hollywood wants him to be. He is more terry cruise than Stallone.

However let’s not act like FF wasn’t on life support before he joined the cast. Does anyone even remember fast 4? I saw that shyt on a dvd screener and I love them movies. He deserves the credit for bringing that franchise back.

Exactly and I know white boys that likes him more after watching this doc. These dudes are just haters.

like at this point if you don’t like him in anyway after watching this doc then you need to avoid the topic of Kevin Hart from here on because he will never appeal to you. And that means stop entering threads talking about him. Because you obviously don’t like him so how can you have an objective conversation? But I bet these dudes will be in every thread voicing their opinions about a guy they don’t want to like. The internet is full of weirdos.

Got Kev talking about "Want this to be the Harlem Nights of our era from a black perspective"

Am I the only Breh who went to see Harlem Nights opening weekend and thought it sucked?
Seriously. That movie was a colossal waste of talent IMHO.

I have a hunch that Kev needs to re-evaluate his relationship with alcohol
It seems like bad things happen when he's drunk (Las Vegas, altercation with Boss, DUI, various incidents he's described in his stand up, more than likely he was drunk when the car accident happened) He named his crew Plastic Cup Boyz for chrissakes.
OAN, I never really looked at Eniko until now. I just threw her in the typical rich nikka wife category.
She's a pretty motherfukker. :whew:
She doesn't strike me as the gold digger or shark wife type. I could definitely be wrong, but I don't think I am.
I've always thought that it was bogus as fukk that his ex-wife started doing stand up
People think stand up is like rapping and anyone can do it. It takes years to hone that craft.
I would think that the comedy community would be more offended than anything because she thinks she can just come in the game swinging based on who her ex-husband is and not pay any dues.
I thought they would leave her to her own devices and let her earn her stripes, but instead I see a lot of comedians, male and female, propping her up and that's some snake shyt IMO
Is she still doing stand up?

I admire Kev's drive but I think he's doing too much and burning the candle at both ends.
He needs to pick a lane and concentrate on it. Space out time for his family and to recharge.
Trying to do everything at once never works in the long run.
Eventually you burn out and one of the spinning plates crashes.

Good points! Do you also think Dwayne Johnson/The Rock is also doing too much and burning the candle at both ends??

i don't keep up with FF shyt, but that series would've been fine. F3 is what fukked up the franchise, FF4 had to help it recover and it did well enough to spawn FF5. FF5 would've been fine without the rock, dude had been shooting bricks at the box office before he joined FF5 so please don't act like he brought some established film prowess to it, he was just another pop icon to add to the mix.

To me comedians (the good ones anyway) are naturally funny. It doesn't even have to be a bit (a performance), it could just be story they were telling on podcast. There was not one moment in this documentary I laughed. When I listen to Chappelle on a podcast, Bill Burr's podcast and they are just naturally funny. Kevin Hart when he is not on stage in not funny.
You can tell he broke his wife's heart with what he did, but at this point she is clearly dependent on him. Hope those cartier bracelets are worth it.
Do all hollywood guys have entourages that big? He had crew of 7 guys.
All the shyt they have is basically because of Kevin. He is right though when he was fighting that trainer guy. Can the guy be successful without Kevin?

Breh should have kept his cool. You know that cut deep because he wanted to fight.

I have to respect his hustle though. He is always busy.
Honestly I don't know anyone who is a Kevin Hart fan and I live 30 minutes from Philly.

I honestly thought that Oscar hosting thing was a joke. And the Oscar people were trolling him.

This whole thing makes me realized how manufactured everything is. So a huge star like Beyonce must have a team that is a 100x bigger than his and everything she does (instagram, interviews, clothing) is probably checked and doubled checked by her team.

I wonder if one of the cars he gives to his crew is the car that he crashed.

And there is nothing wrong with having cacs on your team (:mjpls:), you need that jew connect and that gay connect especially in hollywood. Hollywood is allll about connections.

Fact is his star power made Fast5 , they brought everyone back for 4 and it was not a big hit. he was a great fit for that role in 5 and he has been on a role ever since. He didn’t need a string of hits before that, he just needed to be in the right movie. FF would not be on movie 10 if it wasn’t for 5 and he was a big part. Those other movies he bombed in weren’t necessarily his fault, they were basic action movie scripts, I don’t think anyone could have made Hercules work. This ain’t the 90’s you can’t just throw a big star in a basic movie and expect the actor to make the movie.
