I'm not attempting to discredit your family, only making an observation. People who agree to less than favorable terms usually do so because their other options are limited or nonexistent. Any woman who agrees to be the "main" and accepts that her man will have relations with other women on the side is making a concession and it's probably because this is the best she thinks she can do.

Enjoy your Utopia and you are entitled to your opinions. Other societies functon in polygamous relationships. I chose not to for myself. Sure no one in your fam has "outside" kids either like most Black American fams. If more people were honest in relationships then families (and finances) would be less splintered and feelings hurt.

I'm not disagreeing with you here. I actually encourage people to be honest up front about what they expect out of relationships. My argument is that people who agree to those terms aren't always doing so because they think it's the best deal but rather because it's the best option for them given their circumstances. Women who agree to letting their men have other women on the side are making a concession and in return she gets financial security and probably sacrifices her personal happiness in the process. These deals usually benefit the men far more than the woman in the long run because the longer the woman is dependant on the man, the less likely she'll be able to survive on her own if she decided to leave.

If it's an open relationship, she's free to date who she wants, within confines. Its not a free for all and there are boundaries and rules. Black American relationships, the context of the OP, women have never been dependent on men, always been in the work force at a mininum 45%. Married women are ferocious cheaters just more discrete. So much so I think that paternity tests should be state mandated at birth as many brehs are cucking unknowingly.
