Why not lol. Not in the movie of course but in the comics. I don't know much about Miles but if what I read is correct they exist at the same time/place at this point.

Because miles exists as spider man due to the memory of Peter not to be his sidekick. Peter isn't the type to have a sidekick and Miles doesn't need to be anyone's sidekick.
Peter died in the ultimate universe and miles took up the mantle because Pete is his uncle Ben in a way; he's the reason he does what he does and the person he wants approval and the memory and legacy he's always chasing. Peter still exists in the main marvel universe and now that both worlds are going to combine in the comics that dynamic is going to change and I have no clue how but that's not something that needs to happen in a movie. Miles isn't a robin or a red arrow; he's his own guy so he doesn't need to be tutored by Pete.

I'm just really interested in how they'll co-exist. Not necessarily as a sidekick, I mean nightwing is his own guy too, I just assume they would work together regularly. He'll probably get a name change too.
