You think he's worth Kevin Durant????

To make the money match, they'll have to give up a bunch of other players, but Maxey should be the centerpiece of any offer the Sixers throw at me if I'm Marks.

If you're going to trade KD, you won't get much better than a 22 year old guard averaging 23 a game on 45/40 along with some other players. The picks won't matter because Embiid will keep that team relevant even if/when Harden/KD get over-the-hill. No other team is gonna give away a million picks like the Wolves did.

It's a gamble for the Sixers because of chemistry/durability/etc. , but if the Nets get Maxey, that's a win.

Maxey alone makes it a win if Brooklyn is serious about rebuilding.
it isn't.

Look, Maxey has a bunch of upside, but they were fighting tooth and nail to involve him in the Harden discussions. Now they're supposed to settle for just Maxey? If Brooklyn was serious about rebuilding, they'd find a team that really wants Maxey and get every pick possible they could if blowing it up is their goal. Why? They'd need to find 2 players better than Maxey for the long haul and they don't have the means to get those guys.

They were tryna pillage teams this summer for KD. Now they'll just settle for Maxey? Hey Marks, remember that plan you had? How bout this: we swap Kyrie for Embiid and send that plan to Philly!

I don't see it happening because I can't imagine Marks being given the opportunity to do this all over again in Brooklyn.

Gobert fukked up the trade market, but I don't see teams giving up that amount of picks again. Nets aren't anywhere near a contending-level team, and they're barely a playoff/play-in team with KD dropping 30 every night. They have no one outside of KD that has any serious trade value.

No bottom team is gonna give up their 1st this year because of the chance of Wemby. Nets either get a young stud now, or lose KD for free or basically free when offers dry up.

the price of the brick went up. The possibility of top 10-15 players being on the market is slim at best now for the next couple of years, so even the KD's of the world will command astronomically high values.

To the bolded: you just described why it makes no sense to pursue Maxey. The Nets would be paying him max money to play in front of bubble crowds while still getting his ass kicked every night, and God forbid they keep him longer than 2 years. Then everyone will beg for him to get traded for more picks. I'm saying the Nets are better off skipping all those steps and not waste their time with Maxey because his value isn't gonna increase on a max deal.
