Like I said in the other thread:
As soon as he set up those interviews, I knew he was gone. I wasn't sure if it was going to be this year or next year. IMO there are many factors:
OKC could not land good free agents at all. Factor in the rising cap and there being better rosters and destinations for players. Nobody was looking at OKC now or in the future.
He is now signed with Roc Nation. People were saying his agent Rich and manager/friend Charlie felt he should go to a larger market.
Nike wanted him in a larger market or at least winning. Don't know how they feel about this move though.
KD's foot injury caused him to view how he used his body differently. In OKC, he use to log 40+ minute games often. He cannot do that if he wants a lengthy career like he has always been saying.
He felt some type of way about the Kanter deal. All they did to get him, but didn't put in as much effort to keep Harden. Even though I felt Harden was gone anyway.
OKC front office was just not aggressive and willingness to spend came a little too late.
I was surprised at how hard GSW went after KD considering they weren't too interested in signing him at the beginning or mid-season. However, someone pointed out that Steph recent injuries seem to be a concern for the team. Klay is not consistent and they wanted another scorer that would take the load off of Steph to prevent ankle issues.
I'm a huge KD fan, but I don't understand why everyone thinks this roster automatically means they're going to win right away. We have to wait and see how that bench is going to look, how they will be defensively and who they will have as a center. You have to factor in chemistry too. This is going to be interesting because KD's decision means he has to win now. This team is not as deadly as people are making them out to be. Especially if Steph continues to play "hide n seek" (hide me on defense; seek me on offense); Klay isn't more consistent and Draymond doesn't stop kicking people in the balls. I have a feeling officials are not going to be kind to this team. Expect this team to now get call for everything including all those illegal screens; if they continue to use them.
Also, there is no such thing as loyalty in the NBA. Look where it has gotten Dirk and Wade.
I hope KD made the right decision, but we shall see...
