for those that say its the same thing as what Lebron did then yes, the story has to line up..Here are the reason why this situation is WAY different then Lebrons situation.. Lebron had no help in Cleveland, KD did. KD joined a team that just beat him in the playoffs, Lebron didn't. Lebron was always friends with DWade, KD and Steph were rivals. The Warriors were a 73 win team, the Heat were a 47 win team. Trying to just write this off as "Lebron did it too" is a huge stretch..

and in all of this bullshyt was no mention of a top 10 player at the time in chris bosh... cook tho :francis:

BAY AREAAAAAAA!!!!
To me this means we'll have a 3rd major scoring option. When Steph isn't feeling it, Klay picks up the slack and vice versa. Now if they're both cold, Klay, Dray, & Steph can feed KD the ball. I highly doubt all 3 will go cold on the same night. My biggest concern is still that we need an elite rim protecting center who can score at will. Draymond is just too small to play that role. We need a Steven Adams or Hassan Whiteside type of dude

There are no centers who can score at will.. we don't really need a scoring center, but one that can at least catch and finish.

They do need a defensive presence but they may not be able to get that.

He's had much improvement over last season and has shown decent defensive skills, but idk if he'll get enough minutes to make an impact any time soon.

When I say at will I mean be able to bang bodies in the paint and finish. Not completely create offense on their own, but don't be a lil bytch when nikkas challenge. Ezeli was too soft in the paint.

I see... yea Ezeli used to go up strong but he regressed especially in the playoffs. That was disappointing. I agree tho, it would be nice to have a center that was competent around the rim. Even Bogut was awful..but his passing is tough to beat at the 5

That's the nonsensical things about the RINGZ!1!!!! argument though.

Did signing with GS make Durant a better player in any sense whatsoever?

Yet there are fans stupid enough to say that if Durant wins a ring next year with a team that could easily have won a ring without him, it will enhance his all-time ranking even if he plays like crap all year.

The skreets is talking. I've never talked to so many people in one day about basketball :pachaha:

My cuzzo was decked out in Dubs gear so a bunch of different folks started talking to us about the Dubs signing KD. A Paul George lookin ass dude said SA is the best team in the NBA since they signed Gasol. Another breh came up to us talkin about its not gonna work but then he said hes mad because no team in the west will challenge GS. I tried to tell that nikka to watch out for the T Wolves in the future. He wasnt trying to hear that :lolbron: Talked to some Bron and OKC stans who were salty. This obviously has people really interested. I just hope it keeps us interested! Hopefully some teams can rise up to challenge these guys.

This makes me fck with Westbrook more now though. I don't think he leaving okc. Maybe he can get some real help now lol.

The OKC Thunder are the type of franchise content with generating revenue. Winning a championship is just a bonus. I am sure most owners view it that way, as it is a business.

With Durant & Westbrook, it was pretty much an automatic playoff appearance every year. They come up short, the organization turns around the next year & says "this is the year." The fans buy into it. The owners gets paid. It's the same cycle.

It was always gonna be a situation where these two are gonna just take what they have and make it work.

They definitely want to keep Westbrook. If they can create a scrappy team that plays hard & sneaks into the playoffs that the fans fall in love with, the organization would be fine with that. They will get support from OKC fans. However, I'm sure Westbrook is aware to how this business is. Based on logic, he will take his talents to another organization.

If he leaves, the organization's perspective is "oh well, we had a great run, made a lot of money, nothing last forever" type of mentality and will start again. They are really a pathetic franchise.

People being real harsh towards Durant leaving. Its like it was ok for him to leave UNLESS it was GS..

I think (and Im totally guessing) is that him and Westbrook talked and Westbrook may have said 1 more year and he out. I also think Durant would have stayed if OKC would given him the option to opt out after 1 year. I just dont think they wanted to go in next year with both Westbrook AND Durant as possibly leaving. They needed at least 1 long term. I really think the option was the hang up.. and if you gonna leave, why not go to a immediate contender?

Russ is gone next year as well, better trade him.
