I dont think they would have set it up where they couldnt sign everyone long term. Im not sure what the language is in the CBA that allows it, but there was no way they were that short sighted. With the cap going to 104 or whatever, could they sign KD to full max, and go over cap using Stephs bird rights?

All I know is KD and Curry/Iggy will have cap holds and next years max will be like 36 for KD I think and maybe the same for Steph they may take a pay cut though.

Here's what some people are missing about KD's decision. Him and Westbrook hung out a few weeks back. When they did, I can promise you Westbrook told him he's not staying in OKC after next year. Brothers if KD signs a 1+1 player option with the Warriors that means they don't have his Birdrights with Steph and KD being free agents next year do the Warriors even have enough cap space to sign KD and Steph to contracts with Draymond and Klay having contracts and if they are would they be able to even put reserves around them who aren't playing for a pay cut?

That 1+1 means he will opt out and possibly do this all again next season right?

We'll have the money to give them both their max. We'll be in the luxury tax but money ain't a thing to Lacob. Unlike OKC, we don't mind spending for talent on this side
