So who led the Nets to the playoffs this past season? They were at the top of the standing in January then KD gets injured and they lost a billion games in a row and fell in the play-in. KD comes back from injury and they climb back up to 7th and made the playoffs. KD led those 2017 and 2018 Warriors to the championship. He would have led them to the chip in 2019 also if ain’t get injured. Other than Bron, Steph, Kawhi and Giannis who else is leading their team to a chip?

Tony Parker and Cedric Maxwell weren't leading their teams in points, rebounds, assists, and shooting efficiency as Durant did in the 2018 Finals. Didn't put up 35ppg on 56/47/93 shooting either like he did in 2017 either.

Steph winning without KD doesn't invalidate KD's contributions or his importance to winning those championships. Those FMVP's were well deserved.
