I should not have to point out the obvious too lol

The point is, it was a sound that Amerie started using from her hometown that yes, Chuck Brown is the Godfather of

Beyonce sharked the sound Amerie came in the game with

End of story

God, some of y’all are so funny and doughty lmao

Any similarities between Bey and Amerie's music is because they both worked with Rich a nikka also from DC around the same time. He just got done working with Kelly Rowland

And he also single handedly wrote and produced Amerie's debut album

Amerie is not accredited as a producer or writer on any of the songs

Funny the album didn't even go platinum . ..And the biggest hit Why Don't We Fall In Love from the album isn't even gogo influenced

Really Bey took a chance with Crazy In Love. It was arguably Rich's most "gogo" sounding record at the time. There is no evidence it was meant for Amerie. It didn't sound like anything on pop radio. And Beys first solo single which was also funk influenced flopped. Crazy in Love ended up being Rich's and Bey's biggest hit at the time so it paid off

Amerie just couldn't compete

Amerie came in the game with "Why Don't You Fall In Love" and "Talkin To Me", which aren't Go Go at all. If we're saying Beyonce sharked Amerie then by default, you'd have to concede that Amerie sharked Mary J. Blige. Why? That particular sound was found on Mary's albums with the same producer before Amerie debuted.
Bottom line is Amerie was already poppin' as a solo artist with Rich. At the same time Beyonce was freshly post-DC trying to find a sound putting out subpar /fake Tina Turner shyt like Work It Out.

There was an article that was out at the time Dangerously in Love dropped where Rich talked about how Beyonce/or someone associated with her heard the beats he was cooking for Amerie in the studio and did a power move jack. Amerie and Rich was also going through some issues as well after the first album and he had her signed to a production deal. So all of that was taking advantage of.

I have not seen the article in years/it's probably been scrubbed, but I do locate it then :ufdup:

Breh, nothing on Amerie's debut sounded like "Crazy In Love". Amerie was on the same label as Destiny's Child. Nothing Amerie had was as ever as big as "Crazy In Love". You and others acting as if he created "Crazy In Love" for Amerie and Beyonce strong armed it. This is Rich Harrison's account of how the song was created:

^^^ this is his account of the song's creation.

Amerie and Rich weren't having issues until Touch. This was after Crazy In Love. Rich still did 6/13 tracks on that album.

Ur right. But fact is a fact. lol

When Jermaine Jackson was gearing up to work with Babyface and LA Reid to start on a new album....his brother Michael Jackson found out and
asked them behind Jermaines back to drop everything and come work with him. The pair flew out, telling Jermaine he’d have to wait until they returned from a business trip

Is a better example sharking

RKelly biting Aaron Hall

This not so much

She was lying. She made like she didn’t push the narrative and add to it. If u were around back then and saw her interviews u would know what im talking about.

I was around. I just understand how stories develop and end up evolving into something completely different from what actually happened. Amerie has shot down those rumors. Ester Dean came out to confirm Keri's claims. Yet here you are basically saying they're all lying and you know the truth.... like you were there to witness when the whole thing went down.

Shyt, maybe you were there. Tell us what else they all lying about......??

None of us in here are talking about sounding the like production on the debut, we're talking about style, vocal runs, delivery and etc, along with strong armed beats

They were having issues before Touch, hence why breh only did a couple tracks on that album. She was trying to get out of that production deal that's known facts, Rick was salty.

Like I said if I find the article to back that shyt up then

Nobody compares Beyonce and Amerie vocally. The runs and delivery are different.

Rich Harrison did 8/13 songs on Touch. That is over half of the songs as 2/13 songs are remixes, so its 6/11 of the songs on the album. That's far more than a couple of songs. That's over half of the album.
