We're the only group that let everyone come into our community, embrace our culture, and let em turn around and exploit it. Name another continent where you can just go into random countries, tell the natives that they're wrong, and just run shyt

I get what you are saying, but all continents will and have allowed that to happen historically, that was basically colonialism. We are the only group of people who won't go do that to "other" natives.

When you allow foreign companies to set up shop, this is what happens.
Foreigns corporations setting up business other nations is not bad, you just need to explicitly layout terms and conditions way before. That includes penalties for what happens when they breach said conditions.

I.e. A company MUST hire local 1st generation Kenyans, or they must make up a certain percent of the total workforce.

If not, prepare to pay exorbitant taxes paid to local Kenya government and its people. Make the taxes so exorbitant that it would be cheaper to hire locals. (And no contracting loopholes either)

when you're a country thirsty for economic growth, you don't have the luxury or leverage to stipulate terms. Not to mention, other countries are in competition for foreign investment as well.

for decades, countries have outsourced labor to china because of the low cost. Now China is able to milk other countries the same way. It is what it is. People will only do what you allow them to. I'm assuming the Kenyan government will still collect corporate taxes from that company no matter who they employ so you know they don't give a shyt about a few local workers who got let go.

It's not the same thing. Corporations took advantage of China huge and cheap labor but Chinese were employed.

Here, chinese corporations are taking advantage of Kenya's market and they are not even hiring Kenyans. :mindblown:

And most of the time, for this type of set up, the country will give the chinese corporation a huge tax cut in order to attract them.

WHY the fukk would they want to work there anyway :mjpls:

The management also forces their employees to install the company’s applications on their personal phones, apps which have been shown to track their movements, access their personal phone logs, photos among many other personal items. Being a technological company that manufactures phones, they can easily empower their staff by issuing them with company phones to do the company’s work, something they avoid.

Huawei also requires its staff to send an official email to ask for approval to travel out of Nairobi during weekends and public holidays, also stating whom they will be travelling with, for what purpose and duration, failure to which they will be “punished” should they dare to travel without receiving approval from 2-3 managers
.

Not to mention, they aren't even getting paid what they're supposed to.

Kenyan's were fukked since day one and put up with it. That's on THEM.

I dont want the chinks in Africa..

The problem is useless African governments have failed to live up to their mandates, thus forcing them to seek a quick fix solution by recruiting the chinese..
This has put their young populations on a collision course with chinese..I hope the new generation kicks them out of their country..Our liberation from Europe governments are rubbish!

Instead of copy-pasting whole articles again and again for reps & a chance to pretend outrage how about making threads that begin with intelligent discussions on solutions to these issues. Starting threads the way OP does by linking articles & keeping silent just waiting to see people react invites nothing more than "Africans are weak" comments that lead to nowhere.
I see alot of name dropping of certain countries here but if you visit any local African news site you will find something to get angry about including Ghana or wherever OP is from.
This is a continental problem. Time for faux outrage is over, time for offering solutions & ideas is now.
