In a way Itami paved the way for how they handled Asuka and Nakamura. They pretty much forced him to adjust to the WWE style immediately and it cost him a lot. Because of Itami they realized that coming from the school of strong style is half the appeal for these Japanese wrestlers and that's why they let Asuka and Nakamura cook for a while kicking the crap out of everyone before they started adjusting their style more slowly.
