like dudes have said, he might become a truly elite rebounder in the mold of say, a Ben Wallace, but Rodman's defense set him apart... minus all the fakkitry, dude was strong as a bull (especially in the lower body) and had great instincts and timing on D

He's terrible defensively though.. Rodman was great defensively.

And he doesn't rebound as well neither. Rodmans career rebounding percentage is 23.4.. Faried is around 19.... And Rodman peaked at 29 % ..

so :whoa: right now he's rebounding a less than KG is in his prime so go ahead and throw the Rodman comparasion in the bushes.

Can't put him on Rodman's level because Dennis could guard forwards centers and guards and was an all around terror as a defender. But Faried is going to be a very good player for a long time. He's someone who can help win titles, but he can't be the main cog on a title contending team. So in that sense maybe he compares to Dennis Rodman.

I like Faried a lot but he's NOWHERE NEAR the defender Rodman was. Hell, Faried really isn't even a decent defender.

For all my brehs talking about how this is a bad comparison because Faried doesn't defend as well, Faried can't guard as many positions, Faried doesn't rebound at the same clip, Faried's timing isn't there, Faried lacks instinct, Faried's not strong enough, Faried's not big enough, etc...

You all are absolutely right. :manny: It might be premature to compare the Manimal to the Rodman we all have in our heads. After all, the Rodman we all have in our heads is a HOF and one of the best defenders/rebounders ever.

But Rodman didn't start out as a HOF, brehs. He had to work to get there.

Kenny Faried just turned 23 and he's already averaging a double-double. For comparison sakes, Rodman never averaged a double-double. :troll:

...but that's beside the point because Rodman was never a focal point on any offense he played in. He was excellent at other things which is why he's celebrated now. But I'm just sayin. :mjpls:

Rodman entered the NBA at 25. Rodman didn't average over 10 rebounds until his fifth season when he was 29 and averaging 34 minutes a game. Y'all think Faried is just going to stay stuck at where's he's at?? :leon: Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but he's only going to get better. :ld:

To keep it simple, Faried's motor and commitment to rebounding, despite being undersized, reminds me of Rodman.

But at the end of the day, Faried would probably reject a Rodman comparison, too. I think he wants to be more. :whoo: He wants to do it all, not just rebounding and defending. And if you look at his progression already, who's to say he won't. Show some courtesy, brehs. :shaq:

It's one thing to watch the box score and ESPN highlights, it's another thing to watch a full game on tv, it's an entirely different thing to watch the Manimal in person. :whoo: The bunnies. :datazz::whew:

That boy was cooking tonight. :ohlawd: 19 points, 19 rebs (9 on the offensive glass :wow:), 2 blocks, and a W. :obama:
