Let me just say this, you know what happens to an average Joe after his second DWI, he is seriously looking at some possible jail time.
We need to start setting higher standards, people brush off DWI`s too easily. These guys can kill innocent people with this reckless behavior.
You don't notice where your argument falls apart, do you?
The avergae Joe is looking at some possible jail time, ok cool. Obviously if he gets jail time he'll be missing out on some paychecks from work, depending on his work situation. If he doesn't get jail time, he most likely isn't getting any sort of penalty at work even if his job happens to have some sort of conduct policy. Dude can eat whatever fines or penalties he incurs without his job ever finding out.
The NFL has a conduct policy and highly publicized employees, so it's nearly impossible for a player to get in trouble and not have it come out. Regardless, your analogy makes no sense. If you want NFL players to pay harsher penalties for DWI's, based on the penalties the average Joe gets, then take the argument up with the justice system, not the NFL.
