as a kdot fan i was legit disappointed at that tracklist...that list just doesnt look right
Drake = potential biggest hit of the album
No Q + Hippy group joint = non classic status
Capitol sonned this thread
Damn are people that jealous of the fact that more hip-hop fans fukk with K.Dot then Lupe sad just sad
idc about that this is his debut
Lady Gaga has a good voice, but judging by the title that song will be some lesbo shyt to endear him to hipsters.
It doesn't automatically stop, I'm sure if I looked at some of my fav albums they would be more than 45 mins but as a general rule it's good to say that most albums after 14 tracks have a gang of filler and that can ruin the while album
I'm not mad at all about the tracklist. 12 tracks is fine to me I'm just saying why does everyone think it's virtually impossible to pull off a 60+ minute album with no filler. It all boils down to the artists/labels choice in tracks and one person might think all tracks are classic while another might not be feeling a couple songs. outside of the wu and illmatic most albums can be argued for either side.
I just don't understand why people think that good music automatically stops being produced around 45 minute mark like the music gods stop it from happening or something.
K Dot said the tracklisting is fake. Can't see him dropping an album without Black Hippy on it.
But outside of crew loyalty, let's be real, Kendrick Lamar does NOT need any features. He can carry a project on his own. nikkas like Nas, Lupe and K Dot have the talent to do so.
I find it hilarious when people complain about a lack of features or even have the audacity to say that without some key features the album won't be as good as it should be. Lazy ass, scared ass, shallow ass emcees who don't have the talent or subject matter to carry an album on their own have you nikkas feeling like features should be the standard.
You don't ever hear people saying "Damn...that Beatles album was ill, but I can't believe Paul and them ain't reach out to The Bee Gees for that collabo."
I buy albums for THE artist. 2 or 3 features sprinkled throughout a 14 track album is fine with me, but anything beyond that ratio and the shyt start losing points in my book.
The only features I'm interested in as a hip hop fan are the hook/singing features(and even too many of those get on my nerves...make your own fukking hooks nikka) and who is featured on the production.
fukk your Lil Wayne, Drake, Kanye and Rick Ross features. They usually have the weakest verse on the album, anyway.
Drake's debut "Thank Me Later" was a pretty good album but the fact it had so many features - and that he legit got outshined on THREE of them - hurt it's legacy as a project that displayed HIS talent.
