He ain't surpassing nas bit Jay on the other hand I never had that high

Kendrick is one GNX level album away from surpassing Nas officially. Nas will always be the GOAT lyricist to me. But as an overall artist, Kendrick is pretty much better in every way. He's a better song writer. Better choruses. Better ear for beats.

Kendrick sounds just as great over a commercial song as he does over some underground boom bap shyt. There's not a single Nas song that Kendrick wouldn't sound at home over. Meanwhile Nas would probably be completely lost over a beat like "Hey Now" or "DNA". Kendrick is the evolution of the rap artist as we know it. A combination of Nas and Pac when it comes to lyricism and song writing. He's probably the closest we've ever gotten to a perfect hip hop artist.

Kenny will be going down as the undisputed GOAT when it's all said and done. It's already written(pun intended).

I feel you with the whole evolution of rap artist thing. Honestly like all your points. His versatility, ability to hit on different subject matter and evolving his style . at the end of the day for me personally it’s still about who has made the best quality music, and for me I don’t like his music better than PAC catalog . Good kid mad city is dope, but I don’t like it more than me against the world or all eyes on me. It’s not bias. I’m from Atlanta. I just literally like his music, but I don’t bump it all the time like that. I don’t even have a Kendrick song I like better than California love. That sounds ridiculous I’m sure to a lot of people. But for me Its just what it is..But mainstream wise he will probably be hailed as it. And he is a real rapper who doesn’t care about mainstream shyt. But me personally it’s still about who has the best songs. I’m a fan of his music but it don’t hit the same as PAC or Nas for me. But I get your point. It’s just so subjective when we talking hip hop. I think boxing is even more cut and dry , and that’s so subjective a well. You made good points tho

I love Kendrick but I disagree Nas is the most complete artist in rap history and Kendrick is not a better hook writer than Nas either nasnis top 10 in that department

Yea it all comes down to the music I guess. For me PACs catalog doesn't really hit me like that. I think every album has all time content. MATW has two of my favorite songs ever. Back to back too. So many tears and Temptations. The whole first half is flawless. But the 2nd half production gets a bit stale to me. Generic westcoast sounding beats and repetitive flows. Kinda feel that way about all of pacs albums. I think he watered himself down too much at times. Always liked him more over the hard dark beats than the cheesy g funk knockoffs.

But I think overall. If you take out all the filler and just make a compilation of pacs best. I could see why people consider him the GOAT. his best shyt is impeccable. I just think album for album. Kendricks records are most consistent and focused front to back. And I think he's only getting better. I feel like he's about to go on a crazy run these next 2-3 years.
