The beat is incredible also, play it today it still sounds fresh, I think the problem is the lack of female interaction these hipster nerds have, go to the club surrounded by girls and see the reaction Oochie Wally gets, it’s a song for the ladies not weirdos, and it’s a great song at that.

True

Beat is dope

Just played this shyt now....still not one of his best IMO.

Most people are talking about the actual Nas playlist than the fact that Kendrick's catalog needs work.

Does this say Kendrick Lamar is more overrated than people thought?

I think people bringing up missing songs shows how great Nas is. That Hip-hop top 5 list is tough to crack for the newer acts.

Point is it's not a top 20 Nas song:stopitslime:

I don't want to hear that "play the hits" nonsense because Primo and RZA went at it with bangers and had a million people tuned in. These battles aren't for casual fans they're for diehards who know the artist's catalog.
Premo and RZA played their most recognizable joints for the most part.

Premo played a Christina Aguilera song and RZA played a Kanye song.

My list had Nas canon classics, R&B collabs, iconic features, hit records.

I don’t even know why y’all hating on Oochie Wally.

It’s literally one of his most known songs you boom bapping nikkas. Ya nikkas kept Nas career in a box. :scust:

Nikkas are flipping and freestyling to that beat to this day. :camby:

Don't move the goal posts. Most recognizable doesn't mean hits. Those songs are recognizable to their real fans. Casuals aren't watching the battle so you don't cater to them. If Primo can play Big L and MOP why the hell is Nas playing Hot Boys which isn't even his song? He can play Hate Me Now and If I Ruled the World to cover the hits that his fans weren't divided on.

How can you say you had iconic features and leave off the most important one which is Live at the BBQ?:mjtf:

Primo played the Christina song at the end after they went through their main playlists.

This isn't my favorite 20 but it has the classics along with bigger songs. No feature verse or songs for birds.

Oochie Wally needs to be played because it’s a classic song, a classic club song for the last 20 years running, if Jay-z release the same song no problem, people like to hold Nas to some mythical standards like he don’t get drunk high go clubbing and fukk bytches too, for what it’s worth, for it’s purpose you won’t find many better songs than Oochie Wally, it doesn’t need to be in his top 20 songs for it to be played, if were being honest Nas has too many great songs and you can’t even make a genuine top 20 without leaving great songs out.

Even in your list I don’t see Purple I don’t see You’re Da Man I don’t see Surviving the Times which would all be in my and many people’s top 20.

Those M.O.P. and Big L songs are known just like the Royce track he played they’re cult favorites. The boom bap rap fans hold Big L in high reverence.

based on the precedent yall set with that "hits" shyt with mannie vs scott storch battle, kendrick wins

dont try to walk it back now because yall love nas. i would choose nas easily like a sane person, but yall told me pop songs win.

Exactly...

That's what Nas would play, cult favorites since his cult would be tuning in not a bird who liked You Owe but can't recite his verse from BBQ.
