Honestly, all the back and forth between the stanbases is pointless. Drake makes hits. He's the hitmaker of his generation. Thing is, his generation is full of hitmakers. I don't know anyone that likes Drake that dislikes J. Cole, Kendrick, Big Sean, even Wale to a lesser extent. I wan't to put Big K.R.I.T in that group but the nikka could never get over the hump, still hope for him though. Anyway, I consider that group of guys to be the ones who took over the game post Kanye/Em/Jeezy etc. So if you've got a generation full of nikkas that can make hits, what separates them? Skills. When Drake comes up, people aren't thinking about his skills as a rapper. He makes good to great songs but nobody is hailing him as some amazing writer. The reason Jay vs Nas is still a convo in barbershops to this day is because the argument is steeped in every facet of being a rapper and they're both viable in all of those facets. Kendrick's skills are undeniable, Cole's are undeniable, Sean is getting more props with every release for his skills. If Wale wasn't his own biggest enemy he'd be getting his just due as well. Y'all don't notice that whenever Kendrick drops new music the Drake fans aren't trying to argue how Drake's music is better but instead are trying to argue why Kendrick's music isn't as good as advertised? Big Sean fans are in here comparing verses and breaking down why they think Sean is better. Drake fans want to tell you your thinking is flawed and Kendrick isn't that good.
