They're Black people who kill other Black people usually because of proximity to those Black people, the same reason for White on White crime that White people NEVER have to mention in their songs.
And why are they killing each other? Because of the systematic racism that teaches us to hate ourselves like he mentioned in the previous verses.

I'm not going to argue what he meant, and I don't see anyone really doing that. They are arguing that he's wrong and the comparison should not be made in the first place. A guy on the street killing another guy on the street is not an analogous situation to an unarmed black high school kid being killed by a white guy and the white guy getting away with it. What people are more worried about is how that will be taken, and that speaks to the extent people are traumatized by racial bias

Again I don't see him comparing anything. He's simply stating facts: why am I upset at one but not the other. He's not saying they're the same he's not saying one is worse than the other he's asking a simple question to himself and the listener. Now if you or anyone else wants to see it as a comparison then that's a personal thing and also worthy of a discussion but to me, that's not what I got out of it. I think there's a knee jerk reaction to put that on him or anyone saying that but I don't see the analogy nor do I get that from the song.

And he's not the first black person to ask that question of themselves or of us as a people

Are you a moron

he says Trayvon's name in the song

what happened to Trayvon has nothing to do with CRIME, or gang violence

so it's not hypocritical

if a gang banger got shot by a white person in the process of gang banging, and these people are outrage that would be hypocritical

Trayvon wasn't in the streets, he wasn't a gang banger and he was doing nothing illegal

street violence is in a world upon itself, and most black people don't live in that world

point taken about the trayvon thing, but you're preaching to the choir with this shyt. I already know. The majority of my post you sidestepped, don't think I ain't notice.

How does that make it hypocritical, they doing life, GEORGE ZIMMERMAN IS FREE, of COURSE THEY MAD :russ:

The whole point of Trayvon is that George Zimmerman GOT AWAY FREE

I swear your skull is thick. Not only did he called OUT white supremacy and the system in the 1ST verse making your entire argument irrelevant, he clearly talking about US not valuing our own lives to the point we kill each other over trivial reasons. It IS hypocritical to be angry over a black life's death by the hands of the white man and NOT have care for black life by the murder of our own people.

Homie...Kendrick is from Compton. He's been talking about gang violence since day one. It impacts his community on a daily basis. Even "i" was aimed at gang bangers and people locked in prison. It oozes through all his music, so why are a small group of people getting mad now?

My mom used to say I had to walk and chew bubblegum. I can talk about racial injustice/institutional racism while also talking about the crime I see every day in my community. That's what Kendrick is doing. Taking aim at the hatred of institutional racism, showing it's impact on the community, and then questioning the homie's actions. What's wrong with that?

Kendrick wants to stop ALL the violence.

side stepped what, you weren't saying anything relevant

I addressed when I said street violence has nothing to do with what happened to Trayvon

Trayvon was let down by the JUDICIAL SYSTEM

it's different rules in the court of law when it comes to black people, THAT'S WHAT THE OUTRAGE IS

Is Kendrick not preaching to the choir, or does he have an audience made up of people who think Black on Black violence is okay?

Almost every pro black rapper has addressed what nikkas do to themselves. However they went harder at cacs than kendrick ever will. #levels. Because kendrick is a complete poser and pretender whom only is playing pro black for attention. Kendrick knows he's only doing what he does to try and find a niche market and really doesnt possess the hearts and minds of the black general public.
He's fugazi overall, whcih allows him to tell tall tales about 17 yr old prostitutes in the 2010's whom strut the Whore stroll listening to BRENDA'S GOTTA BABY.
This nikka's a clown
