I absolutely love this album straight thru and on random. There's a lot to unpack and that alone makes it a great listening experience to me personally.

Random, but I always laugh at Kendrick fallingg into the woke category when he might actually say bytch more than any big name rapper and talks about coochie like it's the weather. Dude literally got the number one song and closes out a barrage of insults by calling people crackers lmaoooo.

So much to say as I'm still digesting this but I think being 34 makes me relate to this album more than some other demographics might. Maybe wait til you're in the mood, although I get it, it just dropped.

Other than that song and the opening song, which other songs feel that way to you?

There aren't that many "just rap" moments on this album to me.

Well for different reasons, but the 2 interludes of course. Especially since both Kodak and keem already have features

Then aunty diaries and mother sober. He does ‘rap’ but it just feels too contrived and forced

And then I like Crown, but since bc he took a similar approach on the intro and worldwide steppers, it kinda takes away from THAT song bc it’s yet another acapella-sounding song.

It just makes it feel choppy, like it’s a lot of starting n stopping imo

Factz. Its ok for your favorite artists to have a underwhelming project. He'll bounce back on the next one. I do appreciate the effort. Its songs I'll go back to like

United In Grief
N95
Silent Hill
Rich Spirit
Savior
Auntie Diaries

i like these songs but on a couple of listens I never hit rewind to hear again. There cool tracks but I’ve heard much better from Kendrick. These songs wouldn’t be standouts on any of his past albums imo.

So the 2 interludes and Crown?

I think mother I sober is a high point. I'll agree on Auntie diaries.

N95
Die hard
Father time
Rich spirit
Purple heart
Count me out
Silent hill
Savior
Mr morale
Mother I sober
Mirror

None of these songs have that weird choppy structure you're talking about, and that's 2/3 of the album, not counting interludes.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Nah this guy is reaching though Kendrick might be a mason with lines like

"I'm a good man, shake' hand, firm grip rule"

Also I found out Mr Morale and The Big Steppers might be a refrence to the masonic text Morals and Dogma by Albert Pike

I love the fact that Blxst got the look on Die Hard and he definitely did his thing on there, but I think it would have been certified song of the summer with Aubrey on the hook.

I know it wouldn't happen cause they don't fukk with each other like that, but the two of them on a track would have everyone's attention.
It's still going to get burn for sure in the summer. either way.

DAMN is no Undun.

YAH and GOD are nothingburgers
I don't like GOD, but I like YAH a lot. It carries the message of the album well and the way he juxtaposes Yah's name to all the vices that push away from him by making it a vain adlib is genius to me.

At first I don't remember liking it though, it's probably the song that grew on me the most.
