I liked the bit with him on the throne, and the scattered ass of course.

LMAO! You're quick with it.

First thing that came to mind when watching that video: who is this Riverdance muhfukka and why is he pretending that his song is hood?

The "King Kunta" song and video is the definition of pandering. It's weirdly offensive to me. "Black excellence" is the hood, gunshots, banging, thick chicks and dancing? How is this not the same ol bullshyt we criticize rap for? The appeal of this whole video screams "for cacs only"

Drake puts thick chicks in his videos, Kendrick stans hate. Kendrick puts thick chicks in his video, it's a "youthful expression devoted to the cerebellum antecedent of Black excellence and primordial progression." The fukk?

Like it or not, there's very little difference in theme between "King Kunta" and "Y.B.E". Both videos are shot by the same cat. Both feature chicks, the hood, references to gang shyt. Kendrick stans will say P's thugging and that makes him a negative influence on hip hop LOL. But then make gifs with Kendrick busting at the camera with hands or toy guns.

At this point, all I can say is: "go on K-dot. Pimp the Hood!"

It's all so fake.

Listen to the album. You really would a been mad at a Wesleys theory video then :mjlol:

And I thought Drake stans were insecure. Holy shyt. I don't even like "King Kunta" but posting Lupe verses and videos in a Kendrick thread seems like you're desperately trying to remind people Lupe exists. If he was as nice as people say you wouldn't have to resort to this.

Fred.

Funny thing is that they are doing it in EVERY Kendrick, Drake and Cole thread. It's ridiculous.

I can see your point. What should the video have been though? A slave theme?

Video went perfect with the g-funk vibe of the song. West, West ya'll. Being from Cali and being raised on The Chronic and Doggystyle... this shyt right here, this shyt right here was righteous. Thank you K.Dot.

:salute:

I dunno, maybe Black people going to school, working jobs at all levels (corporate, artistic, service industry, mechanics, 9-5, whatever), raising families, falling in love with each other. All examples of excellence. Isn't that what K-Dot's supposedly selling? A video sorta like Angie Stone's Brotha.

Dude's whole steez just doesn't add up

It's only one dude in here that's not even a Lupe stan derailing the thread.

Dude is more of a Kendrick hater, so he's playing into that by posting Lupe lyrics in this thread. Yal shouldn't let somebody who's obviously trolling get to you that easy.

nah
as black people, there's a big muddle of identities that we're all familiar with. Being conscious, being hood, being "respectable"

I feel like this video is a little more honest about the confict of interests in modern black minds

I hate when directors pretty much put blacks in white roles, to make it seem like they made it, or showing how hard they work so white people go :ohhh:

this seemed like it was really for us and not to show out for non blacks :ehh:
