Kendrick is a phenomenal artist but its not his lyrics that make him great.

Its the fact he knows how to put it all together thematically.

From the cover art to to the videos and visuals to the beats to the themes.

It all forms one cohesive vision

Kendrick is more of a artist than fans give him credit for.

His "lyrics" may actually be the weakest part of his overall toolkit.

I cant quote many Kendrick lamar bars but I can always tell you the overall message of each project.

kendrick got killed on songs by every rapper i named.

it was so bad, on the song he did with future, future has the only part ppl remember. I mean besides neckbeards who struggle with the fact that mariah’s ghostwriters made a fool out of eminem.


Matter fact, look up the definition of lyrical. It just means the expression of beauty.

kendrick has the ability to make some very meaningful, fun, and beautiful music, but not better than any of the guys I named.

this... with that said, Kendrick is incredible but it’s weird how I can’t say he has better verses than Cole or Drake... but Kendricks albums are better. I think it’s the digestibility of his verses. You will hear a Cole or Drake verse and be ability to retain and spit back parts of it after first listen. I think it’s based around the fact that he tends to flow in an attacking and rapid manner and hardly uses a smooth flow.

part of being a great lyricist is having ur audience retain and understand every word. It’s funny cause Kendrick is a big fan of Hov and doesn’t hold Nas in as high a regard. I think Kendrick is closer to Nas in style and could actually learn a lot from him, as I hear no Jay influence in kendricks music... and I’m saying this with Nas as my goat. Stylistically he should honestly listen to more Andre3k and Nas, cause their subject matter is closest to his; side note he’s not touching either of them lol.

People talk about the big 3 of the 2010s era being Kendrick Drake and Cole when KRIT has put together one of the greatest catalogues the game has ever seen

Only reason he generally doesn't get that love is because of the politics. His southern accent, where he's from, his sound, and his time spent on Def Jam all play a part in why he isn't as big as them

Both him and Kendrick are timeless artists. It's a shame casual listeners don't acknowledge KRIT on that level like he deserves to be

Def Jam fukked krizzle up , his career never rebounded the right way after that. In 2021 Freddie Gibbs is getting more love than krit
