It’s one of the worst songs he’s ever made

It’s also one of the most industry pushed payola records

shyt is straight up garbage corny flow and Kendrick’s most dumbed down lyrics over a generic stripped down trap beat
and it went #1 and still gets played in the bars/clubs

Yeah Interscope made sure of that

And no that shyt doesn’t still get played :laff:
yeah it does, this how i can tell nikkas is just hating or don't go out

very few songs/artists are "organic," so the whole interscope thing y'all push is dumb

nah, u gotta stop dikkriding. besides Manson weird ass, I like interscope. the ones I named, Eminem, Billie, and Kendrick; ppl don't or very rarely listen to them outside.

its a lot of money to be made from lost contrarians such as yourself. check the box ass nikkas, but don't get the vibe.

music is communal. if nikkas don't play any of your music outside, u a hype machine.

nikkas not playin manson and nine inch nails outside, I don't care if they tour outer space.

would much rather hear fall out boy. and if u watch football, u will during the game. the best music is functional.

u making my argument. bringing up meaningless hype stats.

kendrick is a midlevel hitmaker atm. u will hear started from the bottom at an nba or nfl game before u hear humble even today, and I give mike will made it most of the credit for that song. weird ass beat goes dumb. the true collab between the two was dna.

kendrick's best hits are from gkmc and we gon be alright. I would give him loyalty, but he was carried by ri, production, and a fire travis scott cloned hook.

again, kendrick not even the best hitmaker on his label. hits from the documentary go harder than any kendrick hit to date.

kendrick and eminem can sell all they want. they are the mc hammer and vanilla ice of fedora hat music. one side of the spectrum, nikkas dance too much. the other side, nikkas can't dance at all, so they need the hype machine :mjlol:

This is bullshyt, and frankly a sign that you only listen to rap music. People consume music in a wide variety of ways. Do people listen to Radiohead outside? Do people listen to Foo Fighters outside? How many people communially bumping Michael Buble in these streets? Not much, when compared to rap blasting out of cars. Using that as a barometric of success - when each of those artists is bigger than virtually every rapper - is stupid. To make matters worse it's pure anecdotal. I'm from Michigan...plenty of white people bump Eminem here. I got to Cali often, plenty of people bump Kendrick all day there. He's on the radio nonstop there, as are most LA artists.

I don't consider Kendrick a hit maker. He just happens to have hits. Same with Cole. Drake is a hit maker. Until DAMN, Kendrick's hit making was reduced to a couple songs. He has something that a lot of rappers don't have...album tracks that make crowds go insane. MaAd City isn't a hit record, radio spin wise...but it was his biggest crowd pleaser until Alright - which also wasn't a true hit. Similar to how with Drake, Know Yourself wasn't a hit yet is one of the top 5 biggest crowd movers in his catalog.

U can’t be a nikka. U gotta be a cac or a african to get so upset at everyday nikka nuance, and how we consume music as a CULTURE.

Saying I don’t listen to other kinds of music just exposes the fact that u can’t read. Callin somebody stupid is the mark of a person with low comprehension skills and a parochial worldview.

Nikka, ppl bang Michael Buble, Foo Fighters, and Radiohead. U just don’t go outside.

And I don’t care about ppl who play radiohead at all. And I enjoy radioheads music.

But fukk em, cause thom bytchass can’t crossover. He in the same boat as post malone who’s music I also enjoy.

Nikkas don’t wanna hear that weird shyt when we get together.

U the lame dude playin deathgrips in a car with bytches and nikkas gotta snatch the aux from your cac lovin ass.

This is nikka music and nobody crosses over like nikkas.

I put Future over radiohead, cause my own ppl play future, and guess what? Every other ppls play that nikka shyt too.

Radiohead ain’t that global for one fact. They use a genre nikkas created and nikkas don’t listen to them like that. So fukk em. They don’t touch my ppl.

It’s cause they bytchmade. I have no problem critiquing artists i listen to often cause I’m not in my feelings like u.

And that’s what I was saying about kendrick. My ppl don’t listen to him outside like that so I just can’t rate him that much no matter how much I personally like his shyt.

I will listen to frank ocean any day over migos, but I’m not gonna ignore migos impact over MY culture. And migos proved their impact when they BODIED frank on that Calvin Harris track.

But you just a weird cac. That’s why a lot of nikkas don’t fukk wit kendrick. He provides a breeding ground for cacs like u to bring up eminem like nikkas rate him.

U can’t be the best if the culture u vulture from don’t embrace u like that.

U can sell out the most Italian food in the world. If Italians by and large don’t fukk with it, it don’t mean it’s not good. It could be great, but it’s not AUTHENTIC.

3 years since this dropped :wow: I’ve been reluctant to call it a classic all this time as it didn’t hit me with that instant classic feel like TPAB & GKMC but I think I’m ready to accept it’s a classic. It hasn’t left my rotation since it dropped and it’s one of my most played albums ever
