Spent more time with the album, another headphone session and a car session
I already like it less than my first spin. Not a good sign....great albums usually get better with each progressive listen
The beats are just off here....boring stock drums, played out trap sound....a few honest attempts at creativity that wind up falling flat
Even Duckworth which I thought was crazy on my first play, now it just kinda sounds forced with them beat switches that don't flow and the 2004 9th Wonder drum kits
I'm being negative, but I still like the album quite a bit due to Kendrick himself always bringing heat. But musically, this is his weakest album. That being said, I'm still in the 8-8.5 range. I'm only pointing out the bad....there is a ton of good
