Thinking about it, what's hella ironic is that a lot of the same people who talk about Kendrick having a more sophisticated musical foundation than the rest of his peers are the same people who completely ignore some lowkey basic musical shortcomings he has such as his abrasive vocal tonality which rarely ever works in key with the music

These same people then go on to mock and criticize rappers who can not only maintain consistent vocal tonality in key with the music (Thug) but are also able to convey and control emotion in their delivery/lyrics (Gates) which is literally one of the most coveted skills for any vocalist regardless of genre

Most of these nikkas never actually laid vocals before so it's understandable, still funny though how the internet rap community created a lotta nikkas who think the technical side of rapping is strictly in the writing. I'll give Kendrick credit in that he has some songs where he effectively conveyed the emotion of his lyrics through his delivery but a lot of times it comes off as extremely forced.

Kendrick doesn't have a great "rap voice"

Never forget it took @Matt504 a good 2 years to convince these dudes that Thug's flows and cadences were by design and complex.

Thing is Kendrick has good flows and cadences but it can come off as goofy when he goes over the top with certain concept i.e. Lust (that hook is one of the worst in 2017)

But he's still trash so who gives a fukk

If you think this album is a classic...then I what do you call ATCQ - WGIFH because it shyts all over this pseudo-artistic drivel with funny voices. There's not one track on here that matches anything on that album. Is he even rapping on some of the tracks or performing spoken word pieces to beats
