As far as Lupe is concern, The Cool seems close enough but not on the level of what Kendrick is doing with Damn as far as the theories are concern. The Cool was more of talking about the life of the dude that came back to life on the title track off of Food and Liquor. A pretty dope concept too.

Originally supposed to be a double disk album. First disk with Nas living the Escobar lifestyle, eventually dying (killing himself) for such a sin-filled life then he is reborn and given another chance at the end of the first disk, comes back as Nastradamus on the second.
Something like that....
There was no finalized tracklist but the concept is pretty well known among old heads and Nas fans. There was a thread on here not to long ago with the assortment of songs that album was intended to go...
