I used to feel a way about Kendrick doing this type of stuff since 2017

He's done so much thought provoking conscious music, I feel like his mental health was suffering as a result. Rap stopped being fun to him. The praise he got for those deep records got to him

That's why I feel like he was uninspired before he worked on Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers

He's making music to vent and have fun. Enjoying making music again. Something I feel like he hadn't done for himself since Section 80. It's been conscious material about his history, his inner troubles and societal issues, which is important. That type of music can't be all someone makes tho. It puts them in a box not only fan wise but mentally
