No he's looking for fukking Michael Bay some explosions there some explosions here, not some shyt that'll make him work or think

he's pretending whole verses and songs are 'things not said' as if kendrick is signing that in ASL versus actually saying it. he's changing the criteria and consistently moving the goalposts. just another tired coli troll

It's very clear that kdot is a run of the mil plant without any exceptional ability as a rapper.
Without interscope pressing that button,he's literally a nobody.
1. Kendrick was never hot on the streets. Just compare him to where Rick ross was at around DTR,TD or rich forever. He was never that hot on the streets and there are other rappers whom were also way hotter on the streets than he ever was.
2. His commercial success looking funny in the light. He's a "platinum" rapper in the 2010's with singles that didnt really do too well for a "platinum" artist and youtube views similar to nikkas whom dont get half the push.
3. People come out to his shows? It's crazy cause nearly all of his BIG shows are festivals that would exist with or without him. He cant tour like ye,wayne, drake, jay etc yet he's been presented as if he's TRULY amongst them in stardom. (nice sneaky hustle by interscope)

Assuming you're not just throwing a tantrum like a child, I've taken you up on your offer and will explain.

First of all, 2nd Childhood is a brilliant, beautiful and cautionary song. Aside from the fact that it sounds fantastic (which is the most important part), it's just really smart. Great theme. The term "second childhood" usually denotes senility: the phase an adult, usually senior, enters into when they need to be taken care of like children. Their mental capabilities are deteriorating. Nas flips this idea to describe perfectly healthy people who are much younger but immature. They refuse to grow outta the dumb shyt.

Straight up, I've never heard anyone use the term 2nd childhood in the way Nas does. On some social anthropological shyt. It's a superb flip. I could be wrong: maybe someone did it before Nas. If you know, please prove it.

So let me analyze the different lines

This is a great 'time lapse' sorta line. You can picture a guy sitting on different project benches over several years. It shows a certain docility in the guy's mind. He aint up to shyt. He's moving but fixed to one point. That is what it means to be mentally stuck.

and the musical chairs part is a great reference because kids play musical chairs. Adults don't really do that.

A really simple clear line that says a lot. That's what you call profound.

obviously we know what this references. I just think it's a good line. The whole verse is about how this girl doesn't really have anything going on in her life. No profession, except giving brains. So calling her the brain surgeon is a biting line.

There's nothing profound about this line on its own, but it's a great 'closer' to the verse. It encapsulates the main problem with the girl in the entire verse. Concise and accurate.

Now tell me how those lines aren't profound
:mjlol:

Thats profound to you?

:laff:

You must have the mind of child to think thats profound :laff:

Nothing about the idea that nikkaz are acting immature in the hood..cuz really that is the meat of the message, is profound..
Only mufckaz that think such a simple reality is profound are nikkaz who dont know sht.., straight up
This breakdown got me crying cuz he really out here tryna make this simple ass sht sound more complex than it really is :laff:

:dead: negro pls

Simple minded ass nikkaz being amazed by simple ass sht like that :laff:

Do me a favor. Next time you respond, take the smileys out. You're doing too much. and it makes you look immature.

Yes, the core idea of "hood immaturity" is nothing new. We already know this. But the way Nas illuminates it is new. He brings up new, relevant and interesting images/observations/references (deciding to call it second childhood in the first place, bringing the musical chairs image, or breaking moms furniture watching comicview) to provide insight on something we feel.

What new, interesting and clear image has Kendrick ever brought to the table? I'm still waiting for you and the rest of this thread to provide that.

And while you're at it, I broke down the lines one by one to show how they were profound. You disagree, which is fine. Now explain to me how those lines are generic/dull to you. One by one.

Don't chicken out.

Oh so new images is all we need cool
Got u to say what I wanted :mjpls:

heres some new images to topics we've all heard

"The meek shall inherit the earth" - a age old message that Kendrick illuminates in a new way in How much a Dollar Cost

Profound points +1

Hatred towards blacks and self hatred- an age old truth that Kendrick illuminates in a new way in Blacker the berry by flipping the phrase "blacker the berry the sweeter the juice a phrase used mostly by blacks to claim their love for blacks, but Kendrick uses that phrase created by blacks to judge em and comes to the conclusion that blacks too are also against this phrase "hypocrite'"
thus Kendrick creates the paradox of black love/hatred within the community and how much it mirrors whites hatred for blacks

huh?! where's the rest of your post? I thought you were going to show how dull/boring those Nas lines were.

also, where are the specific Kendrick lines we can analyze?

That's no punchline. And that may not even be in 50's top 50 quotes

Breh stop trolling the booth

why would you try to eliminate full songs AND punchlines? What do you want like only a limit of 3-6 bars or something? you think he hasn't painted vivid imagery before? had dope quick witted punchlines? told a story better then 99% of rappers today? constructed a world within his music? dude is working at the highest conceptual level of anyone today in terms of album building.

you just created these small goalposts and just are getting some sort of pleasure out of trying to be contradictory
