Its a damn shame that Shamrock will never get his roses for what he did for the WWE. Dude was coming out of the UFC still with wins and had the MMA scene going nuts. Help make the whole MMA=Pro Wrestling crossover appeal possible, but somehow dude just got treated like nothing mattered. Hell, I hear about Steve Blackman over Shamrock concerning the WWE and dude was there just for a spell.
As it should be :ufdup:

Yeah, by Summer of 98 Shamrock was easily one of the most over guys on the roster. He was right there with guys like Foley and Dwayne that were on the cusp of breaking out into superstardom. According to JR the only thing that kept him from the main event scene was that he was 100% committed to wrestling.

Didn't he want to continue MMA while with WWE? Thought that was what held him back from becoming a full-time main eventer.

Yeah, that’s what I meant by he wasn’t 100% committed to wrestling. He would talk about wanting to still do MMA, and that made the higher ups in WWE lose faith in pushing him.

Random story…

I remember watching the DX IYH PPV when I was a kid and they had some chick playing his sister. They were arguing outside the ring. The cameraman was hella close and you could hear Shamrock say “slap me” in between yelling at her.

That was the day I accepted that wrestling was fake :russ:

I rewinded like 10 times shocked.

Shamrock made the tap out a thing in wrestling. People just gave up before him. He put the focus on tapping.

People forget about that. Like before Shamrock, the idea of submission matches and grappling psychology was a myth in professional wrestling. Dude brought that over and made matches seem like big fight feels. The intensity, the ring gear, and the whole "silent killer" gimmick was all Shamrock. Now you have all of these kick pad grapple fukkers that forget that the gawd birthed them :wow: .

shyt now I want to watch some Pancrase fights:whoo:

98 King Kenny was on fire and would've been a very credible main eventer with a title reign. Like it was said above nobody was tapping out. Mic skills be damned dude was believable when he snapped :demonic:

GET OUTTA MY WAY:damn::damn:
