Last month, WBA 'regular' welterweight champion Keith 'One Time' Thurman (25-0, 21KOs) headlined the debut edition of "Premier Boxing Champions" at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He faced former multi-division champion Robert 'The Ghost' Guerrero and put in a dominating performance over twelve rounds to win a lopsided decision.

Right now Thurman is looking to return on a televised date in June or July. He is willing to wait around longer - if the right opponent comes along. Thurman says the biggest challenge for him, as usual, is getting a live opponent in the ring.

"Well first off, I want whoever wants to fight around the same time I want to fight. I think that’s going to be my biggest challenge, getting somebody to fight me on my date or the date that I think would be the best to step back in the ring. If the fight is worth it, I’ll wait a little longer to step back into the ring. If it’s worth the opponent, like a Marcos Maidana, Amir Khan or something of that nature, but I would like to fight anybody," Thurman told On The Ropes Boxing Radio .

And who can he face? Thurman is not exactly turning anyone away. He's willing to face Timothy Bradley, Amir Khan, IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook, Shawn Porter or even Andre Berto.

"Manny is fighting Floyd but I’d fight Timothy Bradley, I’d fight Amir Khan, and I’d fight Kell Brook next. I know there are fans that probably still wouldn’t mind seeing me fight Shawn Porter. Berto just fought and won," Thurman said.

"There are a lot of fights for me as a welterweight champ right now. I don’t know which one is going to come next. I’m probably going to make the phone call to Al Haymon this week. I’ve yet to talk about what’s next, so that’s why I really don’t have any answers for you guys. But we will see, hopefully something good."

I think of everyone he named the most likely bout to be made is the Berto one.
I can see Allah Haymon wanting to build One Time up a little more before putting him in with bigger names and I have long thought that Berto main purpose for being on the Haymon roster is to eventually be used as a resume padder for dudes like Thurman, Broner etc.

Y'all say that because he fought Jo Jo Dan?
No, I'm not just saying that because he fought Jo Jo Dan. I was ok with that fight. It was his 1st fight coming back from a horrific leg injury in which he could have died, and it was against his mandatory. I give him a pass for that.

What I'm not giving him a pass for however, is after beating Jo Jo Dan, calling out Juan Manuel Marquez (who's literally on his last leg) and Brandon Rios (who's trash). And it's being reported that he's possibly fighting Frankie Gavin.

Why doesn't he fight Keith Thurman? or Tim Bradley? or Marcos Maidana? shyt, even guys like Diego Chavez and Robert Guerrero would be better than the names listed above.

What this tells me is that Brook is trying hold the IBF belt hostage by taking easy fights until Amir Khan is ready to fight him. Khan is the big money fight Brook is looking for, and he knows the biggest bargaining chip he has is the IBF belt. He probably thinks that if he loses that, he loses his chance at a fight with Khan.

Doesn't that kinda sound like what Khan is doing right now in his quest for a Mayweather/Pacquiao fight? Yes, it does. The only difference is that Khan is getting called out for it, while Brook is not

And he's trying to fight Frankie Gavin on May 30th instead of a legit opponent. Who else has Brook fought in 34 career fights, besides Shawn Porter and Senchenko?:sas1:

He's had 34 fights and has only faced 2 Champions (current/former) in his entire career:sas1:

His resume leaves ALOT to be desired:sas2:

He has called out Bradley and Thurman as well and as of yet he does not have a fight scheduled. We shall see.

And Brook isn't tryin' to fight Frankie Gavin, that's potentially Tim Bradley since Khan pulled out of the IBF eliminator it falls to him (Timothy).
