It's not working because he's probably not taking the drugs required to keep his hair. He's an athlete and the drug you need to keep your hair is banned by the NBA.

KD wakes up in his uniform and uses a basketball for a pillow. He be like, 
as he looks at the brush... then he sees the basketball on his bed and goes then says to his brush, 
"there's 2 things KD doesn't need. bytches and brushes" grabs the ball then eurosteps past the brush like "ahh, ahh" and hits a spin move as he grabs his keys in one smooth motion out the front door.
That's why he's top 2 or 3 in the league right now and my personal favorite current player right now.
