Cris Carter has communicated directly with Kawhi? :gucci:

oh on reddit they said

Cris Carter is brothers with Butch Carter, former NBA player and head coach. Kawhi was working out with him at the NBPA facility during his sabbatical last season.

While the San Antonio Spurs are listening to trade offers for Kawhi Leonard, the organization maintains hope of keeping him.

"As long as he hasn't been traded yet, there's some hope that things can be repaired," said Jabari Young. "Obviously he's probably being kept in the loop as far as what the Spurs are trying to do trying to trade him, which he's requested. They're also sending signals like 'Listen, we still want to try to work this out, so if we get down to the wire and all of a sudden Kawhi you have a change of heart, let's sit down. Let's talk. Let's try to work it out.'

"I think Kawhi has to also, in his head, be prepared to possibly come back here for another season because if the Spurs don't find a deal that's good enough for them, they don't pull that trigger. It has to be a win-win for both parties."

Young believes Leonard wouldn't actually sit out if he's not traded. Young was told approximately a month ago that Leonard is about 95 percent healthy.

The Spurs can still offer Leonard a supermax contract, which he couldn't sign with any other team.

Norfeast groovin…
It’s ridiculous to suggest that Kawhi would be a sidekick. Especially as the years progress. Kawhi is setting himself up nicely if he signs in 2019. Only three years of sharing the team with LeBron where it’ll be 1a/1b moreso, then Bron retires and Kawhi is in his early 30s and the young players are just reaching their prime years.

Kawhi signing with the Lakers outright next season after the team has had time to gel and gain much needed experience will put GOAT franchise in prime position to get rid of the Warriors.

Bron is at the point in his career where he truly wants to give the keys to someone else. Kyrie was averaging more shots per game than Bron. Problem is the cavs didnt have that guy anymore when Kyrie got traded. He wouldn't mind kawhi taking more shots or even letting lonzo handle the rock for a large portion of the game. He'll just need it in his hands at the end of games or if the other team goes on a run and the lakers offense is in a little drought.
