That was one of the most cringey setups of a joke I heard in a long time....

And who claps for reparations as a grown man?

there were black people saying similar shyt during slavery, reconstruction and jim crow. the sentiment behind your words isn’t new, your pessimism about our prospects for liberation felt and expressed by many black men and women over the centuries we’ve been here.

:unimpressed:
Since you want to reference history, do you know what happened when the 1964 Civil rights bill was signed into law? Democrats lost all political power in the South and never got it back. The voter base and some elected officials completely shifted to the Republican party. Its one of the most notorious shifts of power in political history.

This goes back to my original point. White elected officials are not going to risk their positions for reparations. Many black ones won't either since they would be easier targets than white elected officials. The blowback would be monumental. They would lose political power for a long time. This is not the same as signing a civil rights law. This is much bigger.

This is how white people act. When Obamacare was signed into law, the next year in 2010 Democrats lost 63 seats in the House of Representatives, 6 Senate seats and never regained the House majority until 2018. In the House it was the largest victory since 1948.

You guys have to stop being emotional or saying a bunch of dumb militant shyt for daps. Be rational for once in your lives.

In those two instances, doing the right thing led to increased white rage and voter turnout for the other party. The party where the law came from saw no real increase in voter turnout or political power.

ok let's take california numbers. California said 800 Billion, and there are not a lot of black people in Cali. So you are looking at Multi-trillions of reparation money. No polititian is going to vote for that. Where are you going to get the money from. Economically, it will kill the US economy. Plus you think covid scams where bad....the level of scamming would be epic. :whew: Financial reparations will never happen. You think hispanics are gonna go for it? Asians? White people? Arabs? Its good to talk about, but no one is actually willing to pay for it.

Now if you were talking about free or reduced college, low/no income tax, etc. Things like that might be doable. But any kind of payout, wont' actually happen.

It's possible for them to pay reparations. Figure there's 32 million black Americans in the country, and each was given (Adjusted for inflation) $500k, that's $16 trillion. Definitely doable.
