That fake kane storyline was just as bad as Katie Vick. But Katie Vick gets more heat.

But it was funny as hell (*pun intended) seeing Kane choke slamming ppl just cause they said May 19th

Al Wilson’s Kayfabe Death by Conjugal Exhaustion

Al Wilson was former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson’s father (in reality, he was an actor). To Torrie’s dismay he fell in love with his daughter’s archrival Dawn Marie. They married, and shortly thereafter Al reportedly died due to too many instances of marital relations between himself and his new bride during their honeymoon.

Such a tasteless storyline did not go over well with fans, but it nevertheless lasted for months. The lowest point was Wilson’s kayfabe funeral, where Dawn Marie got into a fight with Al’s daughter and blamed her for causing Al’s death (when, as disgusting as it was, it was clearly Dawn Marie’s fault). The grieving “widow” punctuated her point by smashing a lamp over Torrie’s head.

Went well with me.... seeing Dawn Marie & Torrie Wilson make out on network television was well worth sitting through the bullshyt.

Yup.

In fact, most everything between 2001 and 2002 in WWE is disavowed like a dead double agent. Invasion, Kiss My Ass Club, nWo revival...

You know, I was just thinking about how abjectly awful WWF/E was from about August 2001 until July-August 2002 and the beginning of the Smackdown Six era.

Even disregarding the whole Invasion stupidity, think about it. And RAW's drought actually went on much, much longer than that.

Just awful.

Kane was so fukking over after losing the mask. It was like Daniel Bryan levels. They had to get him to tone down his path of destruction because the crowd was on the verge of turning him. Then.....Shane McMahon entered the picture.

But after that run Kane never really got over as a heel again. He'd get huge pops no matter what. I remember when he did the "Is he alive or dead thing" with Mysterio and beat his ass and no one would boo him so they just stopped trying. Eventually he just became a Tweener. Glad he got a decent title run and hopefully he gets another decent main event push.

Kane has been is some bad angles and been basically buried a few times over his career. That just attests to his talent and ability to adapt that he has been able to thrive for almost 20 years. The Vick angle was bad and widely criticized but in retrospect after seeing things like people hung up on a cross and seeing Ric Flair fake a heart attack in the ring was it really that bad. The worst thing was someone thinking HHH could have attended and recorded the event and used it years later to embarrass Kane.

This wouldn't have been so bad if the fake Kane at least LOOKED the same as the old Kane. The hair looked like a shytty wig and looked fake as hell. Also he wasn't as buff as Kane used to be, and he didn't move like Kane moved at all; he moved around too quickly
