Let's be reality for the love/hate the coli gives Megan the Stallion even if you take away the sex appeal you are still left with a competent rapper. The other thing is yes, we like our big booty sex pots but behind it all they still need a personality. Kashdoll doesn't have that and she doesn't have any real talent as a rapper.

He also means no gimmick. Rappers could put out straight fire without dressing wild flamingo or doing off brand shyt for attention. That’s why they’re Was a variety for everyone back then - you want street grimy (mobb deep), street poetry (nas), fly smooth flow ( dipset) , backpack rap ( bahamadia, black moon), boom bap (epmd), Jazz rap (tribe, roots) house rap (jungle brothers) , knowledge rappers, underground rap cyphers- etc etc- fly boy dapper rap (ll cool j or whodini, big daddy Kane ) and then whatever bag Wu Tang was in at the time, melodic soul rap ( max b).
These same varieties exist today. On top of all the old shyt you just named

Nikkas just lazy and still live in a radio framework when radio has been surpassed as a medium for optimal music curation

Music(hip hop) has never been more varied than it is right this moment

And framing it like rappers didn't have gimmicks in the time period you're referencing is disingenuous

Because she doesn't release as much music as her contemporaries.

Megan thee Stallion is on that slave contract - and has like 4 mixtapes/albums over like a two years - Rico Nasty has 7 or 8 projects - City Girls have three projects in two years and have several viral singles.

She's not unpopular - she's just not as well-known as her most famous contemporaries. She's outselling plenty of her male contemporaries though.

Simple, the bar is too low for her kind of music so you gotta cycle them bytches out quick, I'll even go a step further and say that when you look at their male counterparts, they can rap about the same thing over the same kind of beats as well but they definitely have different sounds and delivery and flows. A lot of thot hop rappers don't really have their own style or flair, they literally almost all fill the same description, thick ass chick with tattoos weave and nails with dead eyes and low ambition.
Its the other way around - her male counterparts are the same smoked out, skinny-jean thug rapper mumblers that are copying decades-old flows.

No comparison to Kim - no one was trying to force us to listen to Kim’s songs and she had persona along with originality. I legit her queen bytch crush on you and big momma thing being Played through today. I’ve never seen songs beings forced into rotation as much as they do Meg’s mediocre shyt. Corny Viral dances off her songs just to get a buzz. Plus the fact that Kim had vocals and could actually mesh with Big to hone her craft. If Big didn’t pass, I think the emotional toll had an impact on Kim’s career; her heart was into it anymore. Every newer female artist took a page from Kim’s playbook. I’m not a Nikki fan but even she was lyrical before all that harujaki Barbie bullshyt she started spitting (or whatever that gimmick was). The south needed a female rapper and Meg just happened be the “it” girl of the moment. She’s a social media construct bc I rarely hear her get any spins elsewhere.
She had sold-out shows in Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, and Detroit last year that my friends attended.
