Karma doesn't exist. Evil simply just prevails

Bad stuff happens to all people all the time.

When it happens to person A who has done person B wrong, person B likes to say it was because of the wrong person A did to them. It's some weird chatty patty satisfaction of payback or justice or something. When in reality it's just normal shyt.
Agreed. Loved ones die a horrible death and it's karma for something a sibling did? or it's a test? Slave owners gonna pay in the afterlife? Or do they get into the pearly gates for all kinds of inhumane treatment if they really ask for forgiveness? Were the other lives all pawns in his story or do theirs not count because they never did anything as cruel?

Gotta live your life and enjoy every moment with the people you love. Make each other's lives great and try to keep the negativity away

That's what's wrong with society today. People think that you have to be evil in order to be liked. Rooting for the bad guy seems to be the cool thing to do. You can't do something good just for the expectation to immediately get rewarded. Sometimes you get rewarded immediately, sometimes a bit later, and sometimes further down the road. Greed has corrupted society. Just because you don't get good karma back from a good deed immediately doesn't mean you should turn to evil. And regarding the comment about evil dictators that died peacefully, nobody chooses when or how they'll die. Just like nobody chooses their skin color or ethnicity. Things just happen that way. Life isn't always going to go the way you want. If everyone is corrupt, then the whole world is screwed.

Related but unrelated due to the nature of this thread, I feel like I experienced some good karma recently. With the holidays, I had purchased gifts for co-workers, friends, and family, plus some excess spending recently on things for myself, a baby shower gift, and other life events. Well earlier this week I won my fantasy football league and got back $500 plus my fee for next year is already paid off. It might not have been all the money back that I spent but it's still something. I'm like damn I did a good deed and got people gifts for the holidays and got rewarded back myself not long after for it. I didn't do the good deeds just to get something in return, but it was nice to have that happen. Are you gonna be on your deathbed still trying to get reprimanded for all the good you did in life? You won't have the time to enjoy it if you do get it back.

The western concept of Karma is an pipedream created as an emotional cushion for people to think that wrongs against them will be avenged at some time some where, through some mysterious process. It's great to think there is some invisible avenger and balancer out there but this is pure fairytales. This emotional snakeoil is constantly peddled to delusional masses from Oprah Winfrey to the The Secret, and filters in to mainstream thought.

however this doesn't mean we should act selfishly in the world.
