Shieeet Black Canadians in general. My fam is from Trinidad, Barbados and Guyana. Majority of other black people I've met throughout Canada are either West Indian or African. I have met some Black Nova Scotians though. Their ancestors came to Canada from the States.

I'm Bajan, and pretty much everyone I know is either Bajan, Jamaican, Trini, or Haitian. I got one aunt who is Nova Scotian. I can count on one hand the number of Africans I know.

My fam lost touch with the Bajan side of our family. My great grandfather moved to Trinidad and started a family and that's where most of my fam was born. We could be related for all I know so :salute:

KRS ONE and the Rascalz :ohlawd:

I forgot about Crazy World :ohlawd: I'm only now realizing they sampled "Atmosphere" by Funkadelic for this.

I must admit I was like :whoa: when I heard Dangerous. I was very vocal in my dislike of that song. But he deserves international success. He's a living legend up here to anyone who knows Canadian Hip Hop though.

Kardi :salute:

British and West Indie influence has always been heavy in toronto. I been going there since I was a little kid. I always considered it "London West" the amount of british DJs, MCs, etc... that would do shows there on basically a nighly basis. The drum and bass scene was heavy in toronto back in the 90s when it really wasn't popping anywhere else but the UK. And that incorporated sound system culture and a lot of MCs who were heavily influenced from the carribbean. I'm from NY but I remember The Opera House, The Docks... T-Dot before they started calling it The 6. I wasn't surprised at all when Drake started "incorporating" W.I. and U.K. artists and influences in his music...if he is really from Toronto than chances are he was around that type of shyt his whole life...:youngsabo: people just love to take drake down a few notches

"but...but...bu... he's not British!!! :mindblown:"

I was bumping Kardi's Fire & Glory when I came across this thread :ehh: He doesn't get enough credit for his influence on Canadian Hip-Hop being accepted in the U.S. I remember being like :gladbron: "what the fukk is this" when I first saw Bakardi Slang on Rap City. Looking back Not 4 Sale (the last album of his I enjoyed) was a bit ahead of it's time as far as sound.

I'm waiting on the old Kardi to come back. I kinda miss that sound :mjcry:
