If we're talking facts, Virgil was lightweight known for copying people's work. Everyone does to some extent, none do interviews & books talking about "taking" an idea, adding 2% to it and calling it your own though. No it's not yours because enough of the original work's still there and he knew that and was sued before
That said, he was a better communicator than Kanye and that in and of itself opens doors Kanye's nazi brain can only dream of opening. He thought he did but he never will. Virgil also means more to fashion and made "streetwear" commonplace, and gave minorities hope that they can make it in a field that the opportunity otherwise might not be there. That's what bothers Kanye more than anything, his underling passed him and his brand's impact in fashion and he'll take it to his grave. And everybody knew what it was which is why he wasn't around Virgil's funeral
